About this ebook

The author gave a final check of this book, by reading out loud all the daily messages contained in the 12 months of the year. He suggests that he was impressed at the variety of subjects and topics discussed in the book. The book principally covers body, mind, soul and additionally, lifestyle topics encountered during one’s life. He says that after reading the full book – which is the third in an annual series of daily messages, covering 2016, 2017 and now 2018 – he decided to continue writing the 2019 daily messages on his Lifeunpacked Facebook page. The 2019 book will then become the fourth in this series of books. This current book marks the twelfth book in total published by the author to date.

What the author also found interesting is that it is possible to see this book as one containing 12 chapters. One for each month of the year. In many ways, the reader may get additional enjoyment out of following this suggestion. Whichever way you choose to read its content, you are guaranteed to find enlightenment and will also find yourself confronting and challenging many of your beliefs about life. This book is not just about the messages. It challenges you to consider how you are living your life!

Keith Giemre

Keith Giemre enjoyed an expansive and vibrant international accounting career culminating in his appointment as Executive Chairman of South African media giant, Primedia Broadcasting. Now retired, Keith lives in Cape Town just a few meters from the Atlantic Sea, with Table Mountain nestled on the left hand side of his iconic picture postcard balcony view. Keith's journey from relatively sheltered childhood in Pretoria to a point where both spiritual and material achievement are welded into an exceptional level of success, is detailed in his growing body, mind and soul series of books. Keith's books are aimed at adults who have begun to question the mysteries of life and are striving to make sense of it all. The books record the evolvement of Keith's own body, mind and soul, taking the reader from the out of body experience of a small boy, through 60 years of research into the familiar questions: Who are we? Why are we living on earth? And what happens to us when our earth body dies? And what happens to our soul after the earth death? Keith shares his personal journey through these questions in his 7-book series.

    Introduction

This book is the third I have written incorporating my daily thoughts. The first book covered the 2016 year; the second the 2017 year, and now this book covers the 2018 year. All these messages were first shared on social media via my Facebook page entitled Lifeunpacked. I must be honest with you that many of my messages were not planned in advance. When I switched the computer on first thing in the morning, and I moved my fingers to the keyboard, it was as if I opened a communication between my fingers and my mind. The words thereafter just flowed. I did not and still do not go back and get ideas by reading what I wrote about on the same day in previous years.

This book is a rich reflection of my daily experiences in 2018, and I hope it strikes a chord with you, namely because of its authenticity, and my other such sentiments. I have suggested on the back cover, that you may find it more useful to read the messages as 12 chapters of a book. One for each month of the year. Many messages flow over a number of days, and you may find more enjoyment in seeing the daily flow of certain messages. The book has been skilfully lightly edited for conformity, and although some wording or grammar may have changed, the content is true to what was posted on Lifeunpacked.

    Month of

    January

Good morning or good afternoon, whenever you are reading this. Welcome to day one of the year 2018. Take a few moments and think back to all you accomplished in 2017, and the many problems and obstacles you overcame. That has made you a much stronger more capable person to deal with what 2018 unwraps for you. Remember also that each day is a gift from God, so thank Him and keep Him involved in your life. Time definitely appears to be speeding up: but could that be because technology has had the effect of taking away our spare moments? Television, radio, social platforms, mobile phones! Where and when are you finding quiet time?

You will be greeted this day by the first full moon of 2018, which is also known as a super moon. The Americans named this moon a wolf moon, because of the baying wolves searching for prey in heavy snow. The orbit of this moon brings it to the closest point to earth in 2018. The moon must already be having an effect on your emotional body, and it will continue to do so for some time. Be aware of your mood swings. It is said to be about 7% bigger than the normal full moon. This suggests that we should also see effects in the sea waves and maybe the weather.

The message today changes direction, and has a look at the mystery of life. There seems to be a general acceptance that we exist in two bodies: a spiritual body and an earth body. Both are required while we live on earth. Once we die, our earth body remains on earth, and our spirit body returns to the spirit realm. Our true body is our spirit body, but it has to have the use of an earth body to experience itself on earth. We live in two dimensions at the same time: one unseen and one seen. Our earth body is operated by our ego which is connected to the collective world mind: our spirit body is operated by our soul which is connected to the collective spirit mind. To be continued…

Our soul is always connected to God unless we choose, with our free will, to disobey him. Then the connection weakens, allowing Satan to access us. Similarly, our ego is always connected to the world, unless we again through our free will choose to disconnect. You need at all times in life to remember that your soul represents the real you, and that your ego represents the false you. It must be obvious that there is a continual battle between the soul and ego, and the battlefield is the earth body. This battle will continue until you make a definitive choice between the soul and the ego. How do you go about making this choice? To be continued…

Before continuing to look at our soul and ego, I want to tell you that I read a book last year, The Jeshua letters by Jayem, which brought together for me many loose threads of information and knowledge. This has enabled me to write this current message. Let us start with the soul: it is pure unconditional love and is connected to the light of God. Are all souls pure love? I suppose the answer must be no because Satan, and it is said, a third of the then angels rebelled against God. That means the soul has a free will, where the choice is to accept either eternal life or death. The ego is under the authority of the ruler of the world, Satan. Once again, the same choice arises. What is important to realise is that the ego is false, and it is co-creating the world with the collective ego; the world is false. To be continued…

I realise that some of these messages must be very hard to believe. Although I have explained that your choice weakens your connection with God, he never gives up on you. He will allow Satan to inflict you with all forms of sicknesses, which He has given him authority to do. But His ultimate aim is to bring you back to Him, when as a last resort you turn to Him in prayer. I have written extensively of the grace of His gift of His Son the Messiah, in order for you to have all sins and curses wiped out, and to choose eternal life. Tomorrow I will give you chapters and verses to read this for yourself. Unless you have the desire to read these for yourself, you will not gain any benefit from these messages. Faith comes from hearing the word and speaking it. Please speak the verses out to yourself, so that you can build your faith. To be continued…

Yesterday I told you that I would give you chapter and verse for you to read out to yourself. I have chosen four short readings which I would like you to read in the order given. 1) Hebrews 2:14-18. 2) 1 John 5:7-20. 3) Galatians 4:4-7. 4) Ephesians 1:3-11. Might I suggest that once you build a desire to know more about the word, start at Matthew chapter 1 in the New Testament, and read to yourself one chapter each day, until you get through the New Testament. Also remember that each time you read the Bible you are a different person, and you will keep noticing things you never saw, or understood before. May God’s knowledge and wisdom fill you.

I have been asked to explain how one knows whether they are operating from the soul or ego? The word says you know by your fruits. If you read Galatians 5:19, it sets out the fruits of the ego. Galatians 5:22 sets out the fruits of the soul. I also want to refer to something I have written about before. God through His grace forgave you all your curses and sins. He ruled a line under them. He expects you to do the same with any person you should be forgiving. I have people say to me: I will forgive but I will not forget. That is not forgiving and drawing a line under it. If God forgives you, who are you to withhold true forgiveness? See Mark 11:24.

When I want to change my mindset from my normal routine, I either do some puzzles out of one of the PuzzleWorld magazines, watch a comedy film or a sci-fi film. A few days back I found the film Passengers. I missed the start but read that one of 5,000 earth beings wake from ‘a cryogenic sleep’ 90 years early. It had Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt in the two main roles. It seems what happened is that a space rock hit the space ship and woke up a man. After he had been by himself for some time, he deliberately woke up a girl he liked the look of. She thought it had been an accident. The robot bartender told her the truth after she and the man fell in love. She went ballistic. Anyway I had better not tell you any more as it will spoil you watching it.

I often find that when I make a New Year’s resolution, life has a way of putting me to the test. One of my resolutions was to not put off to tomorrow what I could do today. Yesterday I went to renew my five-yearly driving license. I did not have my ID with me, because I seldom carry both my ID and driver’s license together. If your wallet or bag is snatched, you lose both. They insisted they needed to see both. I took the form and drove back home, intending to go back early the next day. On the way home, my mind clicked to my resolution, so I resolved to complete the form, pick up the ID, and munch a banana before returning for a good two hours of queuing. I felt good on renewing the license and that I had honoured my resolution. I left after two and a half hours of queuing.

Today I am reproducing a message I wrote on 28 April 2017. Then tomorrow I will tell you about the book which I have now read. "I watched an interview on TV with a doctor who had written a book Let Food Be Your Medicine by Don Colbert, MD. It sounded like a very interesting book and he unpacks things in a simple understandable manner. He explained that you catch a cold or flu, but you develop chronic illnesses and diseases. Many of these he believes will, in time, be traced back to the food and drink we are consuming. Most diseases he believes are caused by inflammation, and he says certain foods are inflammatory for everyone (cause inflammation in our bodies). I want to end this message with a very profound statement he made. He said people believed that you are what you eat. No! You are what they ate and then you ate them. This is a book I will be buying."

I received the book from Amazon in May 2017. I put it with the pile of books I was still to read. It remained in the pile until last weekend when I felt the urge to read it. This was very important because it reinforced a plan I put into place last April, and also suggested improvements to it. Let me explain: I decided to begin a plan to get myself off all my chronic medications, as well as other tablets I was taking daily – eight in total. My cholesterol tablets began in 1991 and my blood pressure tablets some five years ago. My cardiologist was not in favour of changing the daily dose, and said the plaque would become unstable, causing a stroke or heart attack. I began my plan on two fronts: I firstly built up my faith. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God the Father, and that He died on the cross for us to have eternal life. I also believe that His stripes wiped away all our sicknesses, illnesses and diseases, and that His blood washed away all our sins, and that the Spirit that raised Him is in me. To be continued…

We continue from yesterday. The second part of my plan was to introduce food management. To reduce, minimise, or to remove for a time, those foods which were known to have an effect on cholesterol and blood pressure. The main changes were: one cup of coffee a day; one glass of red wine a day; no chilies; no peppers; red meat on one day in the week; chicken on one day in the week; homemade vegetable soups with a variety of vegetables each time; grain bread; elimination or minimisation of all wheat products; only dark chocolates; no sweets; lots of fruit; minimum cheese; no fried foods; two eggs a week; and fish at least once a week. At an appropriate time after beginning these plans, I consulted the Holy Spirit for guidance for weaning myself off all my tablets: this was achieved and I am now tablet free. I was then urged to read Don Colbert’s book, which supported my plans, and gave details of his food management. To be continued…

Let Food Be Your Medicine by Don Colbert, MD advocates following a Mediterranean diet for health and prevention of diseases. Then it sets out a modified Mediterranean diet for each of the following diseases: cardiovascular; arthritis and autoimmune; diabetes; cancer; dementia and Alzheimer; ADHD and autism; mental illnesses. Not only does he show a specific diet for each disease; he relates actual patients’ success on each one, including weaning them off their medications. If you are serious about getting healthy again, no matter what disease you have, I would suggest this is a book worth buying. Personally, I would prefer to call it food management and a food plan, rather than the word diet. I must at this stage mention a word of caution. If you are going to start a plan to come off your medication, you must consult your doctor, and follow the route I adopted of building up your faith. Remember you are putting your life at risk, so don’t take the step lightly. That completes this message.

Today I want to turn my attention to look into the word ‘love’. This word is very liberally used in our daily lives, but how does it compare with the love contained in the word? The two greatest commandments gave us a definition of love. Mark 12:30&31 states, "And thou shalt love the Lord the God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength, this is the first commandment. And the second
