Read More About Patreon here EVne.ws/patreon   Read today’s show notes on https://www.evnewsdaily.com   Good morning, good afternoon and good evening wherever you are in the world, welcome to EV News Daily for Monday Monday 11th February 2019. It’s Martyn Lee here and I’ve been through every EV story I can find today, and picked out the ones I think you need to know about.   Thank you to MYEV.com for helping make this show, they’ve built the first marketplace specifically for Electric Vehicles. It’s a totally free marketplace that simplifies the buying and selling process, and help you learn about EVs along the way too.   Welcome to our newest member of the Patreon gang it’s a new EXECUTIVE PRODUCER MICHAEL PASTRONE.     FOLLOW UP WITH HUBJECT ON PLUG & CHARGE Plug and Charge is being rolled out on the next generation of BEVs...so that includes the EQC, e-tron, Taycan etc. CharInEV.org: "The two CharIN members Hubject and Electrify America recently announced to cooperate in the establishment of Plug & Charge in the North American market. Electrify America will implement the Plug & Charge mechanism in its charging stations. For supporting the broader market rollout, the “CharIN Implementation Guide to Plug and Charge” based on ISO 15118 will be available for all CharIN members in the first quarter of this year. The implementation of ISO 15118 is a significant step for smart charging of electric vehicles and the vehicle network communication (V2G). It allows vehicles to automatically authenticate and authorize when loading. RFID cards, credit cards or mobile apps will not be needed any more."   https://www.charinev.org/news/news-detail-2018/news/plug-charge-cooperation-of-charin-members-hubject-and-electrify-america-1/   TESLA DELIVERY HANDLING IN EUROPE So who has the resources to handover so manhy ship loads? ICO - International Car Operators. And this post from Reddit: "ICO Zeebrugge, Belgium had to install 300 superchargers as part of the weekly 3000 cars Tesla contract. Charging to 80% at arrival." From a local newspaper: "ICO invested around 2.5 million euros (3 million $) at its terminal in 300 charging stations that can program eight cars in sequence. In the long term, 1,500 are planned. The cars leave 80 percent charged to the consumer"."ICO is already transferring 2,1 of the 2,8 million cars a year in Zeebrugge, “but we need expansion”, ICO boss Marc Adriansens said in May this year. “The market is still growing and Zeebrugge is very popular with all car shipping companies.” Japanese logistics specialist Nippon Yusen Kaisha announced earlier this year an investment in its ICO car terminal with 60 million euro of which one-third will be put in a wind mill park at the site. The new wind farm will have a capacity of 44 megawatt and a yearly production of 110 gigawatt hour, good enough to provide a city like Bruges with energy for one year. The wind farm should be operational by end 2019."   https://newmobility.news/2018/12/12/zeebrugge-prepares-for-handing-model-3-tesla-is-hiring/   TESLA MODEL 3 COST SURPRISED PORSCHE AND AUDI AFTER REVERSE-ENGINEERING "Tesla Model 3 is now entering the European market and it is making some automakers nervous. According to a new report, Porsche and Audi reverse-engineered Tesla’s new electric car and they were quite surprised by its cost." according to Fred at Electrek: "Now a new report from Germany’s Manager Magazin (German and paywall) includes a deep dive into the state of Audi with comments from executives and insider sources. It claims that Porsche and Audi, who are working together on a next-generation electric platform, had to change their approach because the cost was too high compared to what Tesla is achieving." The report says: "The e-tron as the first electric Audi is not only late. It does not reach some target values and has become far too expensive with more than two billion euros in development costs.
