Today on the show we have nutritionist Dr. Lily Nichols to talk to us all about nutrition during pregnancy. Dr. Nichols’ latest book is titled Real Food for Pregnancies, and she is a firm believer in the whole-foods, low-carb diet associated with the Paleo community. She is, however, often hesitant to describe her nutritional approach as Paleo per se, as it possesses some connotations and tends to alienate certain sectors, but there is definitely an amount of overlap between her suggested diets and a classic Paleo approach. During our chat we go over her book and look at all the important areas of maternal health, including some beyond the realms of diet.
