    Introduction

Every one of us has a gift with the potential to change the world. Everyone has potential greatness lying beneath the surface of the heart, crying to be discovered and released. Greatness is not just an act, but a journey. Each of us has our own specific road to travel on the Journey to Greatness, but how we get there must be guided by sound biblical and practical principles that have been tested by time and experience. In my experience, I have found that the " heart of greatness is marked by a strong will to win. The will to win must be bigger than we are, and more important than our personal dreams. True greatness stretches farther than our personal dreams. In fact, selfish ambition is hazardous to true greatness. These fifteen points of greatness will help guide you to discover the winner within. You will also uncover the indicators and the requirements that will ensure achievement while traveling on your own personal journey to greatness. This power pack of principles will not only enable you to discover your personal greatness, but also aid you in maintaining the greatness you already possess, whether in your career, life, entrepreneurship, ministry, or family legacy.

These fifteen points of greatness will spark a new fire to achieve. It is time to dream again. It is time to move beyond procrastination and lay claim to your God-given destiny. You must tap into your unique gift that has been designed to impact both your community and the world. Old limits must be broken. A limit is something that does not extend beyond what has to be or is expected to be done. Taking the limits off or even breaking old limits puts a demand on fresh faith for a new moment. Taking the limits off could be the next level of progress in your marriage, single life, finances, ministry, or business. Taking the limits off suggests that your best days are ahead of you and not behind you. As you journey to greatness, you must be careful not to become too comfortable with limitations. Limitations can slowly make you lose your edge. They can also keep you from moving to your next level. If you become too familiar with limitations, you may accumulate excuses of why you continue to lay in the grave of procrastination.

To operate and move beyond restrictive limitations is to move outside the perimeter of familiarity into uncommon ground. This is the journey to greatness. The decision to take a risk by moving beyond familiar territory with the intent to reach new frontiers is often provoked by an idea from God. The Holy Spirit wants to do something, not just for you to see and realize what hidden potential you contain, but also so all of those who surround you recognize God’s unlimited resources as you impact the world around you. Jesus wants to expand and increase your capacity to reach for greater, beyond the limits of your mindset. The extraordinary awaits you. On the other side of the door exists the unknown. The journey to get there, however, will pay great dividends.

Greatness is not committed to the medium, but the maximum.

Maximum effort requires you to maintain a heart of focus that is clear on what you want and on where you are going. Although you may not be totally clear on the picture, you are clear on what you want. You are also willing to do whatever it takes to get there. I have always personally believed that greatness is not a location, but a destination. A location is a position, a place, or a situation that you are dealing with. Location has to do with a certain place, like where you were born, a city, or a neighborhood. However, destination is what is predetermined. The root word of destination is determined. Destination is not just a location, it’s a promise that must be fulfilled, it is where you are going, marked out beforehand. There is a passage in the gospel of John that relates to what I am saying. And Nathanael said to him, Can anything good come out of Nazareth? Philip said to him, Come and see." John 1:46 NKJV.

People have always tried to define greatness by location. Today, at-risk kids are classified and measured by zip code, not by their inner wealth. This behavior is a travesty. You have already marginalized an individual based on location. How should true greatness be measured? Should it be based on where you derived from or who you were destined to be by God’s choice? Jesus was born in a stable, yet God said He was destined to be a king. Joseph, Jesus’s father, knew before Jesus came into the world that He would be born into greatness despite the poverty that surrounded Him. A God, king, creator, innovator, carpenter, prophet, savior, and leader just happened to be born around animal dung. His greatness was not His location, but His destination. The dung around Him was not there to measure or define Him, because His greatness was far above what surrounded Him.

Jesus as a leader defined what true greatness is all about. It is about the inner wealth, not the outer riches. Greatness is not how wealthy one is, greatness is how you work the wealth from within. We are all wealthy, because each of us possesses the power to be influential. Most of our struggle is with personal significance. Personal significance is another word for inner wealth.
