About this ebook

What To Do When All Hell Breaks Loose
Let’s face it, when the enemy attacks, it can be hard to remember which way is up. Demonic forces can come in like a flood and disorient your mind. They can drown you in hopelessness. Or you may be tempted to turn a blind eye to the spirits that intend to kill, steal, and destroy you. But let it be known, the devil still wreaks havoc on the earth today, and followers of Christ must use Spirit-inspired strategies to drive him out. You need a battle plan. You need specific tactics for specific skirmishes because whether or not you know it, you are in a war.

Offering both scriptures and prayers, 101 Tactics for Spiritual Warfare will empower you to take on an offensive rather than a defensive stance against the enemy. This book addresses how to:
  • Deal with demons from your past
  • Break the stronghold of worry
  • Submit your emotions to the Holy Spirit
  • Take authority over the enemy
Jennifer LeClaire offers a practical battlefield manual that will remind you of the things one often forgets in the face of an enemy onslaught. Find rest in the midst of spiritual storms, break the power of Satan’s devices, and live a life of victory.

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

I AM GRATEFUL FOR my friends at Charisma House who have been diligent to attack the works of darkness with this and other spiritual warfare books. It’s an honor to publish with you spiritual warriors who are fierce in Christ. Thank you for your loyalty and support.

    FOREWORD

MANY BELIEVERS ARE facing spiritual struggles as they attempt to advance in the things of God. Oftentimes people assume the struggle they are facing is just a natural battle, yet just beneath the surface there is something far more complex taking place. They are under a spiritual attack!

As I discussed in my book Overcoming Spiritual Attack, a spiritual attack is a series of events coordinated by the demonic realm in order to abort promises, shipwreck faith, oppress a believer, and stall out destiny. The Bible tells us plainly and repeatedly that the devil has various plots and schemes he uses against human beings. Many people wrongly assume that Satan is stupid, yet he has been studying the thoughts, actions, and behavior of humanity since the beginning of time. He knows how to tempt people, and he knows what kinds of attacks will distract them from their destiny.

Thank God, He has given us His Word, and when our life experience is not lining up with His promises, we know one of two things is going on: we’re either out of His will or we’re under spiritual attack. Of course, discerning you’re under spiritual attack is one thing; fighting off the enemy of your mind, your health, your relationships, and your finances is another. Once you recognize a spiritual attack, you need to rise up in faith and authority with the right strategy, the right tactics, and the right weapons to rebuke the enemy and break its power over your life.

In the Bible we read about many weapons of our warfare, which are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Cor. 10:4). We read about many strategies of the Lord to defy the enemy’s plans for your life. We see that God gave different strategies and tactics to different warriors at different times for different reasons. For example, David didn’t fight the same way as Joshua. Paul didn’t fight the same way as Gideon. Samson didn’t fight the same way as Jehoshaphat. Much the same, God has a perfect battle plan for you, and His strategies and tactics always lead you into triumph.

In 101 Tactics for Spiritual Warfare Jennifer offers biblical tools to combat every enemy attack. She helps you identify open doors and slam them shut. She exposes the subtle wiles of the wicked one and equips you to run to the battle line in the right timing with the right tactic to see swift victory.

As you read the pages of this book, know and understand Jennifer is not writing from mere theology but both a biblical perspective and vital time-tested experience. You may have read her testimony of losing everything—including her husband, her freedom, and her livelihood. That alone is an inspiring story of overcoming the enemy’s work to kill, steal, and destroy her life. But those early battles were not her only ones.

Over the years I’ve personally seen Jennifer walk through many different types of battles and navigate warfare that causes some to grow weary and fainthearted with strength and valor. She stood in the face of battles against her health and now walks in wholeness. She tackled enemy assignments against relationships and has seen restoration. She has wrestled with the enemy over finances and released faith that led to increase.

Jennifer is known for her practical teaching blended with prophetic insight, and this book stays true to her bold yet encouraging style. You will find strength for the battle as the pages of this book infuse you with God’s Word, exhort you to stand in your authority, inspire you to fight the good fight of faith, and give you confidence that victory, though it seems elusive at times, belongs to you and is assured in Christ.

    AUTHOR, OVERCOMING SPIRITUAL ATTACK

    Introduction

WHAT YOU NEED to KNOW ABOUT SPIRITUAL WARFARE

I AM IN a war." I wrote these five words in large letters across the bottom of my wall-sized dry-erase calendar many years ago after a strong revelation that the unseen realm is raging with spiritual enemies that intend to kill, steal, and destroy my life (John 10:10).

Paul warns us in 2 Corinthians 2:11 not to be ignorant of the devil’s strategies. We need to know our enemy, know our God, and know who we are in Him—but we also need to equip ourselves with revelation on how to defeat the enemy of our souls.

It starts with acknowledging what I wrote on my wall calendar: I am in a war.

Whether you know it or not, you are in a war. The war against God’s people is raging. Many are reporting increased spiritual warfare. That’s because the enemy knows his time is short. An Ephesians 6:12 cohort is pulling out all the stops to keep you from advancing the kingdom with your gifts and talents.

If you ignore the devil, the warfare doesn’t stop. If you focus solely on Jesus, it does not make you immune from warfare. Yes, we should absolutely be more God-focused than demon-focused. However, if Paul the apostle—a man with deep intimacy with God who received half the books of the New Testament through direct revelation and prayed in tongues more than anyone—wrestled principalities and powers, who are we to think ignoring this reality will stop demonic attacks?

Indeed, I believe one of the devil’s greatest deceptions is to convince you to lay your weapons down. Make no mistake, there is no cease-fire in the spirit. You cannot lay your weapons down and think for a moment the devil will not see it as an opportune time to go in for the kill. On the contrary, you need a battle plan. You need a strategy. You need specific tactics for specific skirmishes.

Yes, Christ has all authority. He spoiled the principalities and powers, [and] he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it (Col. 2:15, JUB). But we still have to exercise our authority and use Spirit-inspired strategies to drive the devil out.

Paul told us succinctly, We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Eph. 6:12, KJV). Paul paints this descriptive picture and offers a hierarchy of demonic forces so we aren’t ignorant about what we’re up against.

Paul also mentions the weapons of our warfare, which are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Cor. 10:4). The apostle did this to help arm us for the fight. Paul tells his spiritual son Timothy to be a good soldier (2 Tim.

2:3) and to war a good warfare (1 Tim. 1:18, KJV). Paul also told us not to give place to the devil (Eph. 4:27) and warned about the snare of the devil (1 Tim. 3:7; 2 Tim. 2:26).

Then we have James, who told us, Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). And Peter warned us to be sober and vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour (1 Pet. 5:8, KJV). Peter told us to resist him, standing firm in the faith (v. 9). Paul also told us, Fight the good fight of faith (1 Tim. 6:12).

Should we ignore all these warnings and instructions? God forbid.

All these scriptures suggest that the devil is still wreaking havoc on the earth. Havoc on the earth—sickness, disease, murders, immorality, and the like—is not God’s will. Jesus spoiled the principalities and powers. But the word spoiled doesn’t mean neutered and made powerless. Jesus plundered the kingdom of darkness. The kingdom of darkness and all the principalities and powers that call it home lost authority over the born-again believer. But we still have to enforce the kingdom rule
