About this ebook

Howl.

According to Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary, the definitions of Howl include:

1.To cry out loudly and without restraint under strong impulse (such as pain, grief, or amusement).

2.To utter with unrestrained outcry.

Either of these definitions will work as an accurate description of the motivation for controversial author and poet George Pappas’ latest poetry collection, THE TRUMP YEARS, which is a poetic howl about his horror, disappointment, and disgust with the ongoing corruption and horrible folly that is the American presidency and administration of Donald J. Trump.

In summer 2015, Pappas began to write about his displeasure with Trump’s rise to the presidency and post it on his favorite place to share his poetry, Twitter. After Trump’s shocking and unexpected election victory in 2016, Pappas continued to write poetry about the ugly and disheartening events that followed and soon realized he had enough for his fifth poetry collection.
Inspired by HOWL, a seminal, bold, and influential poem by the late great beat poet Allen Ginsberg, Pappas’ poetry collection is split into ten parts, with each section covering a separate subject or incident during the Trump years, ranging from the opening part called Trump’s America; to those about the Russian election interference and the following probe; impeachment; midnight Twitter rampages; foreign affairs debacles; the Mueller Report; kids in cages at the border; deadly racist incidents; endless lies and disinformation; the sinking economy and another depression; the Coronavirus tragedy; and his stained legacy.
Pappas’ concludes his poetry book with a plea to voters to show up at the polls and with a reminder that We the People deserve better.

Explore a frank look at life during the Trump Years by the author and poet of poetry collections, BACKYARD POETRY, THE HOLLYWOOD HOMELESS, MIMI’S DILEMMA, and BODY PARTS.
