During the past 56 years Mary has either witnessed, been part of, or has been on the receiving end of abuse. Many of us experience abuse at one way or another in their lifetime. In fact, some have become co-dependent during the abuse period for fear of their life. Others have died and left this type of environment and are still is the process of healing. Abuse happens at various levels. The key is to recognize it and act on it no matter what happens. As many of us were growing up we have learned through the test of time that abuse of any kind is wrong and should not be tolerated.
