Explorer's Guide to Drawing Fantasy Creatures
About the book
Fantasy art instruction continues to be a top-selling genre because fans everywhere are eager to learn how to create their very own fantasy art! Throughout The Explorer's Guide to Drawing Fantasy Creatures, artists of all skill levels will bring fantasy creatures to life as they learn to draw and paint their favorite characters step-by-step. By using a "field guide" approach, author Emily Fiegenschuh starts readers out with an introduction to materials and basic drawing tips such as using references materials and finding inspiration for creating fantasy creatures from the natural world. She then progresses to 25 step-by-step demonstrations on the basics of sketching and drawing various fantasy characters and finally shows readers how to add color to finished pieces.
Emily Fiegenschuh holds a BFA in Illustration from Ringling College of Art and Design. She has illustrated numerous Dungeons and Dragons rulebooks for Wizards of the Coast, has contributed cover and interior illustrations to the Mirrorstone Young Adult novel series, Knights of the Silver Dragon, and has appeared in Spectrum 9: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art and CRICKET Magazine. Her art has also appeared in the New York Times best sellers A Practical Guide to Dragons and A Practical Guide to Monsters. Recently, Emily has been working on paintings for the Inuit Mythology Initiative, a non-profit organizations dedicated to preserving Inuit myths and legends.
