      Preface

      I am not trying to sell another book; that’s not my point. However, I felt the need to write this practical devotional for you and me to prepare for the God increase.

      What if Heaven is ready to pour the new wine, but the wineskins are old or not even there?

      In this practical devotional, the Holy Spirit will prepare you to have your wineskin ready for the best wine to come and will open your eyes to practical ways to prepare your containers for the tsunami of God’s glory coming your way and my way! Why?

      Because God makes your cup run over, but first, he needs your cup!

      Humility

      And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. Then it shall be, if you by any means forget the Lord your God, and follow other gods, and serve them and worship them, I testify against you this day that you shall surely perish. Deuteronomy 8:18-19

      God is a good Father, and he is after making you and not breaking you. A blessing is not a blessing if the Lord doesn’t prepare you for it.

      Cultivating a humble heart is essential and comes first and is a priority to attract wealth. If you seek a humble heart to get wealth, you are not ready for it because a humble heart is wealth by itself and will always top up any other blessing. But it is necessary to have a humble heart to obtain and receive wealth. A humble heart without wealth is still wealth itself and lacks nothing. A proud heart with all the world’s wealth is not considered riches by God.

      In the opening verse, we read, and you shall REMEMBER the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the power to get wealth. Humility is just that, remembering where your wealth comes from. Why is remembering important? Because one-day, king Nebuchadnezzar forgot that principle, although God warned him powerfully through a dream a year prior.

      God provided the dream with the interpreter of the dream, the prophet Daniel. It was clear and obvious, yet that warning dream proved to King Nebuchadnezzar that he was not acknowledging God and wanted to do that self-glorification. So Nebuchadnezzar gave himself a year, delayed his deceptive thinking that all was well with his soul and that he complied and responded to God’s correction.

      But no matter how much we delay a sin, if we want to do it, we will do it even after decades.

      Nebuchadnezzar forgot that his kingdom’s majesty was allowed by God, and then he lost it for seven years until he acknowledged that Heaven reigns. God restored him! I wonder if your restoration is delayed because there are things you are not acknowledging in your heart. Give God the Glory!

      Prayer:

      Father, thank you for your goodwill to give me the kingdom, and you want me to receive it in Jesus’ name. You’ve released everything for me according to Ephesians 1 and are preparing me to inherit royalty. Help me acknowledge and remember that you are the Father of lights and every GOOD GIFT comes down from you and not from me. Search my heart today and change it. Keep me sane and humble to receive wealth and blessings throughout my life. Amen.
