Reviews for I Give You Glory, O God : Honoring His Righteousness in Y...
We cannot gloryify God unless we enjoy Him.This small book was a companion and guide for my daily devotions centered around glorifying God. It helped to give me a greater longing for God and caused me to delight in His glorious majesty. I Give You Glory, Oh God is arranged in five parts. Each part begins with a glorifying hymn and a poem or two to wet your appetite for more. Each of the 31 short readings end in a prayer that is filled with praise taken straight out of the psalms. There are scripture references for each portion of the prayer. It was so good for me to spend most of my time with this devotional, praying those scriptures and meditating on them.At the end of each portion was a longish quote from the book A Body of Divinity by Thomas Watson. The quote is a meaty portion from the chapter of Watson's book called Man's Chief End which shows us that our purpose in life is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. If you long to delight in God, this devotional, read each day for a month, will help lead you to that desired haven.read more
