The children are fresh out of school with nothing to do. Mom suggest they go to summer camp. The camp is filled with many activites such as: swimming test, riding in canoes, and playing dodge ball. Children can relate to this because many students have been to some sort of camp. I never went to a camp, but by reading this book, it helps me to visualize what camp would be like. Teachers can use this book during a summer unit.read more

They're not sure if they'll like it, but pretty soon they're so busy doing fun stuff they have a great time. They're even fine on the sleep-out at skull rock.read more
The Berenstain Bears Go To Camp is very good book for children wondering about summer camp. It gives a realistic picture that there will be a lot of rules that you go over the first day. Some days you will have more fun than others, especially at first when you are still getting used to everything. Their fear about spending the night, which is common is also addressed but it of course ends up being a very positive experience. A good book to go over with your child pre-summer camp.read more
