Overall, a pretty good read, and I would say a "must read" for anyone who wants detailed information about all of the possible routes you can take during labor and delivery--medical and natural. The biggest lesson I took from this book was that it is wise to go into one's labor with an open mind. As much as we would all like a natural, easy delivery, unexpected things can happen and it's best to be informed about all possible scenarios.

This was a wonderful book about childbirth. The authors walk you through "full-throttle pain relief", such as epidurals and spinal blocks; alternative methods, including self-hypnosis, birth balls and birthing pools, complete with testimonials from those who have tried them; and advice from caregivers, including obstetricians, nurses and anesthesiologists.Written in a reassuring and accessible tone, this book left me feeling reassured and more fully informed about the labor process.more
