GEC July Update

Greetings, GEC Members! Here's an update and what's been going on in our community. Please take a moment to visit items that may be of interest to you. Members are also welcome to post projects or queries to our discussion forum. US schools will be starting their school year soon, so this is a good time to enlist people in projects! Also, a huge thanks to ISTE, our GEC Global Education Summit planning committee, and our Ignite presenters for making our rst summit happen in June! We're thrilled to report that our large conference room at the ISTE Conference in San Diego was lled with interested folks, and we hope that everyone made new connections. Check out oursummit wiki pageand thisnews videofrom ISTE! Steve and I also had the opportunities to several conferences in June and July to spread the word aboutwork in this community. At the Asia Society'sPartnership for Global Learning Conference, GEC members Julie Lindsey, Anne Mirtschin, and Silvia Tolisano participated in a great panel with us. Hopefully, video of this event will be posted at some point. Make sure to take note of this conference as it's a great face-toface opportunity to gather with other globally minded educators! Finally, its not too late to join our international advisory board. We will be holding our next set of advisory board meetings in August, so consider participating. We are also looking to partner with non-prots (including schools) to help us get the word out about the conference. Our best to you, Lucy Gray & Steve Hargadon, GEC Co-Chairs
