North Street Reconstruction Schedule Week of July 16, 2012
For the week of July 16, 2012, Caracas Construction Corporation, working under contract with the City of Northampton, will be continuing to install temporary water service from #39 to 107109 North Street followed later in the week by replacement of the sewer on the Market Street end of North Street. The contractor plans to charge and chlorinate the temporary water line on Monday. Once lab testing confirms that the line is disinfected, the contractor will connect the temporary services to the affected residences. The contractor will provide 24-hour notification of the minor disruption of water service that will be necessary for these connections. One-lane traffic with a police detail may be required for some of this work, and motorists should seek alternate routes or expect delays. After the temporary water is placed in service the contractor will begin excavation in the roadway for the sewer.
