“Well, Dan how is your desk working out?” asked Father Tony Fitzgerald.

“Fine, I’m getting used to law practice again.” “Good, I’ve got new client for us. I am

volunteering as a chaplain at Juniper State Hospital Mental Health and have found a

Catholic priest on the Ward named Bill Riechman who was put there by an Opus Dei

psychiatrist for believing in God. No court hearing, no judicial involuntary commit

order, and no judicial confinement order. He has been there over one year, and there is a

New York state case which says that he is entitled to one million dollars a month damages

for a wrongful involuntary commitment. We will sue on his behalf for damages totally

14 million dollars for medical malpractice and the intentional tort of false imprisonment

and 42 U.S.C. section 1983 the Constitutional Tort. We will also get him off the ward

with a Writ of Habeas Corpus.” “Sounds good to me.” Said Dan.

Two months later and after a summary judgment in Federal District Court Father

Tony and Dan won a 12 million dollar judgment against the State of Minnesota and the

psychiatrist. Father Tony and Father Dan collected a contingent of 4 million dollars.

There was no unethical solicitation involved by Father Fitzgerald because he followed

the guidelines set forth in the United States Supreme Court case of Bates v. Arizona

regarding truthful non-coercive advertising. Two years later and 7 cases later and 24
million dollars later Father Tony Fitzgerald was appointed President of Harvard

University and Dan .Corgill was appointed Dean of Harvard Law School.
