Rev. Alandus Sims, Assistant Pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Pine Hills in Orlando, Fl., and has a long family tradition in gospel ministry. He followed the footsteps of his grandfather, uncle and father into the ministry. Sims began preaching in 1993 at Fellowship Baptist Church, under the leadership of his father, Dr. Arthur D. Sims, Sr., and served as the church’s youth and children’s minister for five years. In 2005, he was ordained as the church’s youth pastor. He has also served as pastor of the St. James Baptist Church in Bushnell. Sims is a 1996 graduate of the University of Georgia, where he received a bachelor’s degree in English. He currently is working on his Master of Divinity degree from ITC at Morehouse School of Religion in Atlanta, Ga. Rev. Sims serves as speaker and preaches on occasions at various churches. He was recently the guest speaker at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church on Hilton Head Island for their Annual Men’s Day Fellowship Program. The theme for the program was “Men of Great Faith Walking in the Light Together.” Their Men’s Day program was an opportunity for the ministers and laymen to celebrate their work and understand their role as Christian men in both church and community,” Rev. Sims is married to the former Crystal M. Davidson and they have three children together. He is certainly considered a man that walks in the light of great faith.
