Noetics

Study of consciousness which is selfconsciously scientific. Different from psychology. Psychology is the manifestation of a persons consciousness, of which the person may not be conscious.

Awareness

Focussed attentive form of consciousness. Mind: changing continually , is only a type or part of consciousness and is most of the time unfocussed. Consciousness: shorter term state. I become aware of something, my consciousness is concentrated both in temporal terms and in some qualitative sense. The attention happens as a focussing which can be either involuntary (sleep) or deliberate (science and yoga). Musical awareness is encompassing both these.
