For all your wedding stationery elements that are sent before your wedding, it is not appropriate and bad luck to use your three-letter married monogram. If you want to use a three letter monogram then you should use your maiden name monogram or, as a more contemporary alternative, use a two letter monogram that is the first name initial of the bride enlaced with the first name initial of the groom. - DULLES DESIGNS LLC

Wedding To Dos to Delegate

Theres so much to be done, but you dont have to do it all! Delegate some of these responsibilities: Table and chair set up for the reception. Make a diagram or meet with who will help you at the site before the big day. Mark the rows or seats that are reserved for family at the ceremony site. Give them a diagram of the arrangement and materials. Make sure the flowers are delivered from the vendor and set up/distributed appropriately. Check with the band or DJ. Hand out programs. Greet guests as they arrive and make sure they know where to sit or stand. Lace bridesmaids bouquets at head table for reception. Keep the brides lipstick, powder, etc. handy for touch ups at the reception. Give bride her shoes to change into at reception. Check to make sure the getaway car is stocked with everything the new couple will need for the honeymoon.

Whether youre planning a rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony or wedding reception, delight your guests with exceptional service, delicious food and the ever-changing views of Charlestons picturesque harbor as you cruise on the Carolina Belle.

Planning an Event Also Means Un-planning

Organizing the after-party clean up should be done with as much care as planning the event itself. Many questions and issues arise that must be addressed. Here are just a few to think about from All Occasions Party Rentals: Where does the excess food and beverage go? Do you need foil or take out boxes? Not a glamorous task but you must know who is responsible for garbage removal. Who is the last person on site to turn off the lights and lock the doors? And, one last note, dont let any one dump the left over and excess ice on the grass because the grass will freeze and youll have a large brown spot for months to come.

Getting Married?
Here are the top 5 ways to make sure youre still friends with your bridesmaids after the wedding from the team at The Club at Seabrook Island: 1. Choose a bridesmaids dress they like - and maybe even one they can wear again! 2. Let them help, but dont demand that they do. 3. The gift you give them doesnt have to be expensive, but make sure its thoughtful. 4. Remember that their lives (and budgets) dont revolve around your wedding. 5. Dont forget to say thank you!

Wedding Donts
1) Live in La La Land It never rains in La La Land, but we dont live there. Planning for the best-case scenario is not planning at all. 2) Overextend Yourself Inviting 300 guests means providing enough food, drink and space to accommodate each person. Be realistic about what you can afford and plan your wedding based on that reality. No matter the size or scale, your day will be memorable because youre surrounded by those who love you the most. 3) Get Your Timing Off From trying on dresses with bridesmaids to your wedding reception, remember to end on a high note. Your guests will leave remembering how great of a time they have had, not checking their watches wondering when is a good time to make an exit. 4) Loose Your Cool In the end, no one will remember the little snags that inevitably occur, but they will remember your freak out! Keep close to your heart and mind the mantra: this is about love, fun and joy. 5) Forget Who You Are Youll want to look and feel your best so, that means not wearing 4-inch heels when youre a flip flop girl. From the makeup you wear to the tone of your day, make it reflect you and your honeys personalities.

Take the time to include a handwritten note to each bridesmaid when you give the bridesmaids their gifts. Since most brides give all of the bridesmaids the same gift, this is a way to add a personal touch to each gift. Plus, you should never miss an opportunity to let your best girlfriends know why they are so important to you and how much you appreciate them! - EMILY SHORTRIDGE; Charleston, SC
