Sheikh Adam Banuri (R.A) was a disciple of Mujaddid Alf Saani (R.A). The name Banuri originates from the Sheikh who migrated from Baghdad to settle in the Indian village of Banur to spread the message of Islam. Banur is a small town about 25 km from Chandigarh, the capital of Indian Punjab, on the Chandigarh-Patiala National Highway, NH 64. Sheikh Adam Banuri was Sayed on his father side and his mother was an Afghan. His family settled down in Banur, near Sirhind. He had written book entitled Kalimatul Ma arif, two of his other works, the Khulasatu Ma arif and the Nikatul Asrar, were among other wellknown works on Sufi teachings. Mujaddid Alf Saani (R.A) also known as Sheikh Ahmad Sirhindi (d. 1034/1624) was the most famous of Baqi Billah’s disciples. He was an Indian Islamic scholar from Punjab, a Hanafi jurist, and a prominent member of the Naqshbandī Sufi order. He challenged so many time orders of Emperor Akbar and Emperor Shahjahan. Sirhindi was the pivotal figure who redefined Sufism’s role in society. His grave is in Sirhind, near Ludhiana, Punjab, India.

Khwaja Baqi Billah (1563-1603) was a Sufi saint from Kabul. He was Ahmad Sirhindi’s spiritual mentor. Khawaja Baqi Billah was the originator and pioneer of the Naqshbandia Order in the sub-continent. His name was Razi-ud-Din Muhammad Baqi but he was commonly known as Khwaja Baqi Billah His father Qazi Abdul Salam Khilgi, Samarkandi Qureshi was a famous scholar and saint of Kabul. Saintliness was reflected from his face from his early childhood. He stressed on Sharia during the whole of his life and influenced the people by virtue of his piety and his strict adherence to the Sunnah. He preferred Sharia to Tariqah (Sufism) and reformed the Sufis and Ulama of that time. There is no tree to cast a shadow on the grave. In spite of this, the visitors do not feel the effect of heat when they stand barefooted beside the grave. His grave is located at Sadar, Nabi Kareem,Old Delhi, India.
