Naming Opportunities Program Many public school districts foundations around the nation, including Pennsylvania, are now

offering naming opportunities to donors, a practice that universities have engaged in for decades. (Some local examples include the Camp Hill Lion Foundation, Shippensburg Area School District Foundation, Waynesboro Area Business, Education, and Community Foundation Capital Campaign, etc.) Naming opportunities are a heartfelt and unique way for donors to recognize, honor or memorialize a loved one. The funds raised will be used to establish an unrestricted endowment; the income generated annually will be used to support the CASD Foundation’s mission and other initiatives as identified through quantitative need assessments. It is important to note that this is offered for the purpose of naming opportunities for major donors – not advertisement. At no time will advertisement of any kind be placed in a classroom or educational setting through this program. Corporate donors will be encouraged to participate in the same way as individual donors, but all signage regardless of donor type will fit within specific program parameters. We will begin the program with eligible naming possibilities in the Chambersburg Area Senior High School —classrooms, special interest rooms (music, art, etc.) labs, gymnasiums, libraries, cafeterias, auditoriums, etc. and promote additional opportunities throughout the district as private and corporate donors present themselves. Signage will be professional designed and mounted as inconspicuously as possible, while meeting the goal of recognizing the major donor’s wishes – i.e. “The Class of 1962 Auditorium.” Signage will be consistent throughout the building (color, font, and logo) and will be reflective of the atmosphere of an educational institution. (Please note that many school foundations provide naming opportunities for auditorium and gymnasium seating. It has been determined that this will not be offered at this time due to the ongoing maintenance of the signage and the additional costs for repair.) An agreement will be established (with the template to be reviewed by the CASD Foundation Board of Directors, CASD School Board of Directors, and legal counsel) which will include a clause for removing the name (with gift maintained) should circumstances arise. (i.e. Auditorium in Mechanicsburg) In order to accept the donation, this agreement must be approved by all involved parties.
