Begin by praying for the root lineage blessing: First empty the mind. Next, visualize the Root Guru appearing above your crown and radiating light on everyone present. Chant the Root Guru Heart Mantra 7 times. Pray to the Root Guru to empower you so that the sadhana will be auspicious. Engender the Four Immeasurable Minds. Visualize your parents, children, relatives, friends, and enemies joining you in this practice. Wake Up Call: Clap twice, then cross hands, and snap thumbs and middle fingers. 1. Recite the Purification Mantras and Earth God Mantra Speech Purification: Om, syo-lee syo-lee, ma-ha syo-lee, syo-syo-lee, so-ha. Body Purification: Mind Purification: Om, syo-do-lee, syo-do-lee, syo-mo-lee, syo-mo-lee, so-ha. Om, wa-dzi-la-dam, ho ho hum.

Earth God Mantra: Namo sam-man-do, moo-toh-nam, om, doo-loo doo-loo dei-wei, so-ha. 2. Recite the Invocation Mantra Om ah hum, so-ha. (3 times) We sincerely invoke: Namo Root Guru Living Buddha Lian-sheng, Namo White Maha Padmakumara, Namo Lotus Light Unhindered Buddha, (a.k.a. Lotus Light Self-Mastery Buddha) Namo the lineage gurus of True Buddha School.

Lotus Mudra 2 . Visualize yourself prostrating fully on the floor to pay homage to the Root Guru and all Buddhas in all times and directions. 3. Bodhisattvas. Touch the brow point [third-eye chakra] with the mudra and visualize the Root Guru emitting a white beam of light from his brow point to your brow point. the eight Personal Deities. each local chapter may invoke the buddhas.(Herein. Employ the mudra and visualize as above to pay homage to all Bodhisattvas and Mahasattvas. and dharma protectors. all Buddhas. Great Homage Using Visualization Buddha Shrine Mudra First homage to the Root Guru and all Buddhas in all times and directions.) Namo all Buddhas of the Ten Directions and Three Times. When practicing at home. Touch the heart with the mudra and visualize the Root Guru emitting a blue beam of light from his heart to your heart. Touch the throat with the mudra and visualize the Root Guru emitting a red beam of light from his throat to your throat. Buddha Shrine Mudra Lotus Mudra Second homage to all Bodhisattvas and Mahasattvas. They appear like multitudes of twinkling stars. Touch the brow point again and then release the mudra. pervading the Empty Space. Visualize in the space before and above you: the Root Guru. you may invoke the deities present at your shrine. bodhisattvas and dharma protectors enshrined at its altar accordingly. all past lineage gurus. Namo all Bodhisattvas and Mahasattvas. Namo Maha Prajna Paramita.

Bow and touch mudra against the brow point before releasing the mudra. Press the thumb of the left hand over the little finger of the right. Vajra Mudra Equanimity Mudra Fourth half-bow. Mandala Offering Offering Mudra: Interlace fingers (with hands back to back) so that the palms and fingers face upwards. refer to A Complete and Detailed Exposition on the True Buddha Tantra. Namo Maha Prajna Paramita. the Universal Light Merit Mountain King Buddha. and the Fixed Light Buddha. heart. the Merit Retaining Jewel King Buddha. the Future Thousand Buddhas of this fortunate eon. then back to the forehead. right shoulder. identity. the Supernatural Power Buddha. the Sumeru Light King Buddha announced by Buddha. the countless Vigor Jewel Crown Buddhas. the Fifteen Hundred Buddhas. the Dharma Treasury Buddha. At the moment of releasing the mudra. bring the mudra to the brow point. To the West the Spiritual Power Flower Blazing King Buddha. bliss. The Buddhas of Six Directions: To the East the Precious Light Moon Palace Venerable Wonderful Voice King Buddha. Namo Sanghaya. the Medicine Crystal Light King Buddha. a great spiritual mantra. visualize the dharma protector at one’s shrine transforming into four bodies that guard one in the front. Namo Dharmaya. Namo Maha Prajna Paramita. behind.After the recitation. To the North the Moon Palace Purity Buddha. By engaging permanence. an unequaled mantra. a supreme mantra. then to the throat. Namo Maha Prajna Paramita. Namo Maha Prajna Paramita. 7. the Precious Victory Buddha. To the South the Tree-Root Flower King Buddha. Above. the Fifteen Thousand Buddhas. a great wisdom mantra. the Seven Past Buddhas. Many Jewels Buddha. An affinity with the Pure Lands opens the Dharma Doors. the Five Hundred Flower Victory Buddhas. Below. Namo Buddhaya. one is blessed with the Dharma. and purity. the Dharma Protector Buddha. Namo the Pure Light Secret Buddha. the Tranquil King Buddha with Lion’s Roar and Divine Speed. Recite the High King Avalokitesvara Sutra Namo Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. left shoulder.

doh-deh-ye-ta. pee-lee-nee-deh. Amitabha Buddha. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. zhi-doh-ka-lee. and freed from all the many kinds of sufferings. the Seven World-Honored Buddhas recite this mantra: Lee-poh-lee-poh-deh. shower limitless compassion upon all beings. so-ha. Maitreya Buddha. ka-ka-nah. one is liberated from the suffering of birth and death. ami-lee-doh seh-dan-poh-pee. affording them equanimity and peace. ga-mee-nee. kyo-ho-kyo-ho-deh. Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. mo-ho-kya-deh. Recite the Root Guru (Padmakumara) Heart Mantra (108 times) 10. the noble Avalokitesvara. and those in the Pure Lands. the observant Avalokitesvara. so-ha. jen-len-chen-deh. a-mi-lee-doh-poh-pee. a-mi-lee-doh pek-ga-landoh. Manjusri Bodhisattva. doh-ta-ga-doh-ye. the Medicine King Bodhisattva. All beings in the Central Realm. By constantly invoking this sutra. the billions of Clear Cool Treasure Mountain Bodhisattvas. (7 times) 8. Namo the great wisdom Avalokitesvara. the Universal Light Venerable King Tathagata Bodhisattva. the expansively-minded Avalokitesvara. a-mi-lee-doh pek-ga-lan-deh.Shakyamuni Buddha. Mudra and Visualization 6 . toh-loh-nee-deh. nee-ah-la-deh. (7 times) 9. that they might cultivate day and night. while moving upon the Earth and through the Heavens. Chanting this sutra continually. Akshobhya Buddha. Akasagarbha Bodhisattva. the Supreme Medicine Bodhisattva. Recite the Rebirth Mantra Na-mo a-mi-doh-poh-ye.

(3 times) Sanskrit SEH syllable (1) Above an expanse of ocean is a stretch of clear sunny sky. si-ba-wa. resulting in a state of great self-mastery. a trident vajra (three pronged staff) in the curve of his left elbow. Extend the index fingers so they point to the sky at an angle. he holds a vajra scepter in his right hand. Inside the moon disc is the red Sanskrit seed syllable “SEH. su-do-hang. Hold the mudra at chest level. da-er-ma. and demonic interferences. Hook the two little fingers onto each other. sa-er-wa. This nectar eradicates all transgressions. Press the thumbs upon the middle and ring fingers of each hand respectively so that they clench. A moon disc rises from the ocean into the sky. si-ba-wa. su-da. Recite the Padmasambhava Heart Mantra 7 . Visualization: First empty the mind. Padmasambhava’s body is pink and he wears a jewel crown. with the right hand in front of the left so that they are back to back. and a nectar-and-jewels filled skull cup in his left hand. Chant the Emptiness Mantra: Om. sicknesses.Padmasambhava Vajra Mudra: Cross the hands. (3) Visualize the nectar transforming into a brilliant white light that travels in an arc to enter and empower one. 11. (2) The seed syllable inside the moon disc revolves and transforms into Padmasambhava. Sitting on a lotus moon disc.” emitting great pink light.

Here it becomes red light and descends the right channel to enter the left channel at the dantian. During mantra chanting. The tassel transforms into a “lotus hand” while the string threading through the beads transforms into a circle of inherent white light of Vajrasattva. (9) Breathe in through left nostril and out at the right (as in 2). visualize Padmasambhava appearing inside the bead and coming to the forefront. Nine Cycle Breathing and Entering Samadhi Nine Cycle Breathing: (1) Visualize white light entering the right nostril. when a bead is moved. sid-dhi. still as red light. hum. exiting as dark light at both nostrils. Here it becomes red light and descends the left channel to enter the right channel at the dantian. it ascends the left channel to exit the left nostril as dark light. be-dza. ascending to the top [crown chakra]. Visualize the left hand transforming into a vajra bell and the right hand into a vajra scepter. (4) Breathe in through left nostril and out at the right (as in 2). gu-ru. Mantra: Om ah hum.Visualization: Hold mala beads in front of the chest and move each bead with the thumb during chanting. still as red light. (5) Breathe in through right nostril and out at the left (as in 1). seh. (3) Visualize white light simultaneously entering both nostrils. Entering of the Deity into Oneself (Ruwo Guan): 8 . The mother bead or emblem transforms into the Many Jewels Buddha’s Stupa and the four sectional beads transform into the Four Heavenly Kings. then returning to the dantian to enter both side channels. then. The Deity then contracts to rest upon the heart chakra lotus and transforms into a light pearl. If one is not able to release the self. Chief Holder of Light. This process is known as “alternating cessation with visualization/observation” or “dual employment of cessation and visualization/observation. (2) Inside one’s body. Visualize oneself emerging from the Void to return to one’s body. The light pearl ascends the central channel to exit through the crown opening and transforms back into the Deity. immediately visualize oneself as the Deity again. You appear whenever called upon. the light pearl rests atop the lotus at one’s heart chakra.” Breath Counting Method: Mentally count one’s own inhalation and exhalation until arriving at the “stillness” condition of “no-thought. the lotus located at the central channel at the heart chakra opens up to reveal a moon disc. release oneself into the Cosmos. On the moon disc is the Deity’s seed syllable radiating light. Great Lineage Guru. Upon reaching the heart chakra. Visualize one becoming the Deity. ascending the central channel and entering into the Void and merging into the cosmic ocean of great light. Emerging from Samadhi The procedure for emerging from Samadhi is a reversal of “Entering of the Deity into Oneself” and “Release of Oneself into the Cosmic Consciousness” as described in step 12.(1) Visualize the Deity (in this practice. The cosmic consciousness is one’s own consciousness. Release of Oneself into the Cosmic Consciousness (Woru Guan): Visualize oneself as the Deity. the cosmic consciousness. There is no separation between one and the Deity. This light pearl enters through the crown opening to descend down one’s central channel. After achieving a clear visualization.

(3 times) 16. dze-lee dzu-lee. so-ha. pun-lah-moh lin-toh-lin. ma-ha beh-ka-dzee-yah. mani padme hum. chan-lan chah-nah-yeh. om. la-dzasah-mo-kyah-doh-heh. lian-sheng sid-dhi hum. so-ha. Recite the Buddha’s Name Namo the 36 trillion 119 thousand and 500 Amitabha Buddhas. Dedication May my great resolve to cultivate Enable me to quickly attain the realization of Padmasambhava. ah-ha-sa-sa-ma-ha. beh-ka-dzee-yah. gu-ru-bei. so-ha. (Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Mantra that Removes Fixed Karma) Om. (Yellow Jambhala Heart Mantra) Om ah hum. I will help all beings arrive at the Buddha Realm. beh-ka-dzee-yah. seh. (Medicine Buddha Heart Mantra) 15.Instill light into our hearts And eternally guard the mind of Bodhicitta. (Maha Cundi Bodhisattva Heart Mantra) Om. gu-ru. (Padmakumara Bodhisattva Heart Mantra) Deh-yah-tah.

Great Homage Using Visualization (same as step 3) 19. soo-do ka-yu mi-bah-wa. And may I develop the qualities of Buddhahood. sah-do sa-ma-ya. Use your vajra scepter to draw a circle three times in the space above and visualize that you are drawing a blazing circle of fire. ji-tamoo. soo-cha-mi. ka-er-ma. refer to A Complete and Detailed Exposition on the True Buddha Tantra. sa-er-wa. and forever turn the dharma wheel. soo-poo ka-yu mi-bah-wa. hum. Upon seeing the Buddha. And aiding those who suffer in the Three Paths below. ma-nu bah-la-ya. May all hindrances be removed. be-dza sah-do deh-nu-pah-deh-cha. ma-mee mun-cha. And thus free all who suffer. sah-do-ah. (3 times) Om Mani Padme Hum. be-dza. never enter nirvana. be-dza. while the lotus flower itself represents wisdom. surrounded by the blazing circle of fire. (3 times) 18. The crossed vajra scepters represent strength. Recite the Hundred Syllable Mantra Om. and blazing circle of fire. zhe-jo mi-bah-wa. da-ta-ga-ta. May I be liberated from the cycle of birth and death. be-dzi-ba-wa. Recite the Completion Mantra Om. remain in samsara. pei. Then say: “May all supplications be completely fulfilled. free of hindrances. sid-di. gu-ru hum. The crossed vajra scepters above a lotus represent protection and defeat of the negative forces. May the Root Guru always be healthy. ha-ha-ha-ha-hoh. see-li-yam. an-nu-la-do mi-bah-wa. dedicate the merits of this practice to the Root Guru. sa-er-wa. lotus flower. The blazing light signifies totality and completion. I.
