Unit: Sound and Waves
Learning Goal
Energy can travel as waves. Sound is a wave, and has the properties of waves.

W1 W2 W3 W4 W5 W6 I can define wave, medium, wavelength, amplitude, frequency I can describe how a sound wave is created and heard, and how its speed can be affected I can explain these phenomena: Doppler effect, interference, beats, resonance, diffraction I can explain how wavelength, frequency, and wave speed are related, and can solve problems involving this relationship I can compare and contrast transverse waves and a longitudinal waves I can calculate the frequency of an oscillating object
