Big Cheese 2012 Chapter Commitment Worksheet

Follow the instructions for Step 1 - Step 9 to come up with a rough estimate of what your Chapter might be able to raise for the 2012-2013 School Year.

ASSUMPTIONS Step 1 # Deli Days/week

INSTRUCTIONS On average, how many deli days do you plan on hosting every week? Taking into consideration winter break, exams, and holidays, how many weeks do you plan on operating your deli this school year. Get out your Academic Calendar:) How many hours a day is your deli open? Keep in mind that grilled cheese are a great meal for lunch or a late night snack. If you have experience selling sandwiches, determine the # of grilled cheese/hour by taking the average sandwiches made on your slowest day and your busiest day, then divide that # by the average # of hours you operated on those days. If you don't have experience, shoot to make 20 sandwiches/hour, or a sandwich every 3 minutes. What is your chapter's suggested donation price? Having a suggested donation price helps your customers understand the value of the grilled cheese they are donating for (i.e. a gourmet grilled cheese with artisan bread, veggies and organic cheese) Take out a smart phone that has a calculator and input the following equation: Step 1 x Step 2 x Step 3 x Step 4 x Step 5 = Step 6 Multiple your Estimated Grilled Cheese Revenue by 20% (Step 6 x 0.2 = Step 7) Subtract your Estimated Grilled Cheese Expense by your Estimated Grilled Cheese Revenue (Step 6 - Step 7) Give an CONSERVATIVE estimate of the profit you plan on raising through other activities such as events, merchandise, drinks, etc). Add the Estimated Profit from other activities to the Estimated Grilled Cheese Profit for the end of hunger to determine a rough estimate of what your Chapter might be able to raise this school year!
