Water vapor imagery shows dry air to the south side of Isaac still being pulled into the core, causing development to be slow.

Deep layer wind shear is moderate east and west of Isaac, and the steering currents are indicating motion to the northwest.

The Monday 4 pm NHC forecast calls for Isaac to move northwest across the eastern Gulf of Mexico over the next 2436 hours, with a landfall projection in southeast Louisiana.

The consensus of the models show southeast Louisiana as the most likely location for landfall.

The forecast intensity shows category 1 as the most likely scenario, although category 2 can’t be ruled out.
