Chapter 1 and 2 Objectives

I can nd the magnitude and unit vector for a vector. I can add and subtract vectors (both graphically and algebraically). I can nd changes in vector quantities and relative position vectors.

1.1 I can use and manipulate vectors algebraically and graphically.

1.2 I can use the position and momentum update formulas to solve problems.
I can nd and use the average velocity of an object. I can nd the time taken for an object to change positions. I can nd the new position and momentum of a moving object.

1.3 I know and can use the fully relativistic denition of momentum. 1.4 I know when to use the non-relativistic approximation for momentum, and I can explain how I know to use this approximation. 1.5 I can use the Momentum Principle to solve problems. 1.6 I can draw and interpret velocity, momentum and force vs. time graphs. 1.7 I can write, interpret and correct Vpython programs that use the Momentum Principle to model motion.
