Saturday, October 20th, 2012 – 1:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Grace Lutheran Camp – DeWitt, Iowa
Through hands on activities, participants will learn to conduct different ground searches, including Hasty Searches & Grid Searches
Myth: Anyone can organize an effective search for a missing individual. Fact: Attending a few basic training classes can greatly increase the effectiveness of a search and increase the probability of finding the missing individual. This class will instruct participants on basic and advanced elements of ground search including participation in hasty and grid searches. Participants will learn how to identify and mark found items and areas of interest as well as what they should expect and what to bring with them to a search. There will also be a night search aspect to this course.

Please note that this will be a hands on training, including searching areas with uneven terrain and walking large areas at the Grace Lutheran Camp in DeWitt. There are also Base Operations positions available for those interested.
