It sounds as though you didn't edit your hosts file (in the C:\Windows\System32\ drivers\etc folder).

You have to at least add activate.adobe.com to your hosts f ile. This is what I added to my hosts file to block Adobe's activation servers: # Block Adobe activation servers 3dns-2.adobe.com 3dns-3.adobe.com activate.adobe.com activate.wip3.adobe.com activate-sea.adobe.com activate-sjc0.adobe.com adobe.activate.com adobe-dns.adobe.com adobe-dns-2.adobe.com adobe-dns-3.adobe.com adobeereg.com ereg.adobe.com ereg.wip3.adobe.com hl2rcv.adobe.com practivate.adobe.com wip3.adobe.com wwis-dubc1-vip60.adobe.com www.adobeereg.com After adding the above to your hosts file, you might have to uninstall and re-in stall Adobe Acrobat Pro X.
