(Transformation 2012 Youth Conference)

Louisville, Kentucky 9/6/2012. On September 22, 2012, from 9-2pm at Hotel Louisville, located at 120 West Broadway; Wounded Warriors on the Frontline Ministries will partner with local ministries and community organizations for a youth conference geared toward empowering local youth and young adults. This conference was created in response to a local need to create more palpable opportunities and outlets for underserved youth who reside within metro Louisville. Pastor Tim Findley of Kingdom Fellowship Christian Life Center will be the guest speaker. Partial proceeds from this conference will go to support the Fighting Chance of Louisville, which is a community organization dedicated to empowering youth via the following; community service, academic tutoring, college test prep, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles and choices. This is a free community event. Transforming our youth. A recent study conducted by the Louisville Urban League titled The State of African American Youth in Metropolitan Louisville goes on to state...AfricanAmerican children make up just over 30 percent of the total enrollment in Jefferson County Public Schools, with a disproportionate share of retentions, suspensions, dropouts and exceptional child placements. Over the past five years, three times as many whites as African Americans experienced a successful transition from high school and either attended college, obtained employment, enlisted in the military and/or enrolled in a vocational institution. Workshops with titles such as , The Transformed Mind, and Change for The Transformation, are geared toward transforming the mindset of the workshop attendees. Evangelist Sherri Dunn, the conference organizer, states that the purpose of the conference is to...equip individuals with the knowledge and the promises of God so that we can reach inside of our earthen vessels, discover our gifts and, ultimately, operate in our gifts, effectively.
