As a law student, based on my experience on my stay in the Law school, joining Fraternity never became an issue.

While it is true that law universities do not prohibit the establishment of fraternities and sororities, the inhumane practice of torture is tremendously prohibited. It is similar with an ordinary association but deeper in a broad sense that, it binds different people with one aim, to pass the bar and to promotion of solemn guarantee of justice specially in a kind of justice system that we have at present. There are pros and cons in joining fraternity, it doesnt only develops camaraderie and builds strong foundation of brotherhood but also a way of identifying yourself among members by virtue of whole hearted acceptance. Living as a law student is not an easy thing. You need to memorize and analyze cases, jurisprudence, Laws, statutes in just a snap of a finger. On that perspective, I can say that maybe for some, joining benefit your studies. Fraternity members provide aids that can help you to survive the 4 year-hardships. However it can also ruin your stay if you cannot balance studies and duties as a member. Better yet, ask yourself if joining fraternity really an advantage or disadvantage. Anyway, nobody is compelling you to join without your consent. Everybody is invited to join but few are chosen. It is not mandatory so freedom of choice is not deprived. Its just a matter of taking risk whether it can be a great help or not.
