Course Description

Theconceptsandtheoryofsignalsandsystemsareneededinalmostallelectrical engineeringfieldsandinmanyotherengineeringandscientificdisciplinesaswell.They formthefoundationforfurtherstudiesinareassuchascommunication,signal processing,andcontrolsystems. Thiscourseisconcernedwiththemethodsofcharacterizingsystemsandsignalsand withthedeterminationoftheinteractionofsystemsandsignals.Muchlightisshedon thesubjectofmathematicalmodelsasadirectresultofattemptingtousethemin systemanalysis. Thecoursedirectlycontributestoobjectivesa,d,eandfoftheHECElectrical EngineeringCurriculum. Afterthiscourse,thestudentisassumedtobeabletomodelagivensystem,solve differentialequationsusingmathematicaltoolsandexplainthebehaviorofsystemin givencircumstances. Thecoursestronglysupportsexpectedoutcomesa,b,IandpoftheHECElectrical EngineeringCurriculum.
