Kim and Bosley had a busy summer of training and it all paid off during the month of September. They travelled to Regina to compete in the only draft test offered in the Prairie provinces this year. Bosley was competing in the very challenging DDX test, which includes basic carting maneuvers, behind the cart maneuvers (handler stands behind the cart and directs the dog), a freight haul and backpacking. Bosley worked very steadily and confidently and now has his Draft Dog Excellent title! Kim and Bosley also achieved a milestone title in AAC agility. At the recent trials in Medicine Hat, they completed the requirements for Bosley's ATCHC (Agility Trial Champion). This officially makes Bosley: ATCHC Oberland's Out Of Bounds Bosley CD, DDX, SHDCH, AgXS, AgXJS, RN, BMDCC Working Dog

Malachi did very well at Cranbrook & District Kennel Club. Sat August 25th Malachi was awarded BB. Sun August 26th Malachi was awarded BB & Group 3rd under Judge Jan Buchanan. As always Malachi was expertly presented by Tammy Sawatsky.

Amanda Shigehiro’s little pug Izzie earned one advanced snooker Q, one advanced jumpers Q and one advanced standard Q at the Cookie Power trial in Kimberley, BC. Then the next weekend she earned the final advanced standard Q to give her the Advanced Agility Dog of Canada title and went on to get a masters snooker Q and a masters standard Q to finish off a great outdoor trialling season!!!

Stiletto went RWB at the Washington specialty!!! : ) Stiletto this past weekend in Helena Montana got her Am Championship, getting 3 -5point majors in one weekend...she went into the weekend already with a 3 point Major... Stiletto is now Am/Can Ch Koping Dangerous Heights

Evelyn reports that Royal is now a Can & Am Champion finishing with a 4 pt major at the Helena shows under breeder/judge Terill Udenberg. I am also proud of Sahara, Can Ch Seransil Skyewell Desert Rose (our silver beige girl) completing her Rally Novice title in 3 consecutive trials with 2 of them High In Class. Toni reports that Kelsey had a great agility weekend. At the AAC Trial in Kimberly she only ran twice and got a qualifying run in Masters Snooker. Walker got a “Q” in Advanced Gamblers now we are in Masters Gamblers.

Amanda reports that Pixel had a few good agility weekends this month. Earning her Bronze Jumpers title at the Kimberley trial, as well as a few other Q’s in Snooker, and Standard. She also received news that her Border Collie Brit is the #1 Herding Started Dog in CKC Herding for the year. Pretty good for a newbie!

And what could be cuter than these two bundles of joy!!!! Congrats to our members who have new additions! Sandi and Gord welcomed little Etain, a Kerry Blue Terrer, to their family. And Julia is smitten with her rescued, Mini Bull Terrier pup Red! She will be her next performance dog!

The Tail End
A few thoughts from the editor
Oh Fall how I love you. The cool mornings, the sound of the leaves crunching under my feet, the beauty of the orange and red leaves. I love it. I’m not sure what it is but every year around this time I am more into obedience training than ever. Training more frequently, heading to the park any chance I can get. I’m always disappointed when the sun goes down and we are forced indoors early! This months newsletter is overdue, and I did not have the Obedience articles lined up and ready. So next month, Obedience talk. I’ve been in touch with a few different people to write something for the newsletter. Hopefully I can get a few different perspectives from people! Also, Halloween is just around the corner! I’d love a few photos of some pooches dressed up in their spookiest. ;) You can expect the next Newsletter the first week in November. So plenty of time to dress up your dog (and you!) in some funky costumes. One last thing- Remember that due to the holiday the meeting will be on Monday, October 15th.
