EXCERTS

The House Suggests evil in the face of the house, face of Hill House seemed awake, with a watchfulness from the blank windows, it was enormous and dark, looking down over. veranda, the drive turned off on either side, to encircle the house, heavy iron knocker that had a Childs face, The Main Hall The hall in which she stood was overfull of dark wood and weighty carving, dim under the heaviness of the staircase, which lay back from the farther end. Above there seemed to be another hallway, going the width of the house; she could see a wide landing and then, across the staircase well, doors closed along the upper hall. On either side of her now were great double doors, carved with fruit and grain and living things. The Blue Room There were blue dimity curtains over the two windows, which looked out over the roof of the veranda onto the lawn, and a blue figured rug on the floor, and a blue spread on the bed and a blue quilt at the foot. The walls, dark woodwork to shoulder height, were blue figured paper above, with a design of tiny blue flowers, wreathed and gathered and delicate.

VISUAL CONCEPT

When reading my extracts I envisioned how dark the environments must be and to do this I had to take into consideration the perspectives of my environments as that is the key, the scenes need a feeling of intimidation and to feel as if they are watching over you, if my images dont portray this then the concept would just fall through. The extract helped a lot, finding the time period so that I could find a solid design and know what type of architecture and furniture would be required which is Victorian helped to plan out my scenes. The colour palette that I would need for my environments would need to be dull and low toned colours to give it a haunting feel.

Comments Ive made: GeorgeHind 5 October 2012 16:37 I really like these Lekti the way the Blue reflects off a lot of the images you have found look really effective and I love the brightness of it all, these must give you some really good ideas. Lekti replies with: Lekti Rose Jacobs 5 October 2012 20:37 Thanks George, I have a pretty good idea of what I want to do indeed. Its starting to show in the thumbnails I have been doing.(will be uploading them this weekend) GeorgeHind 8 October 2012 19:58 Hey Lekti 9 really stands out to me as the perspective seems to give it a spooky kind of feel, it feels like its at the same height as me like I'm walking through it myself it pretty cool. I also really like 16 for the lighting and shading you had done on the rocks. GeorgeHind 1 October 2012 18:55 Hey meg I really like these thumbnails especially how you have done birds eye view images to show where things go and the size of the room

Feedback Lekti has given: I really like no2, the gate has a very dark and scary look to it. And the background and foreground contrast each other nicely. on Project: thumbnails 05/10/12
