New School Information
Dismissal: Note that K-2 will be dismissed at 3:15 and 3-7 will be dismissed at 3:30. Should you arrive before 3:30 you will be directed to loop back around the school because your student will not be outside until 3:30, unless they have a sibling or carpool with another student in the K-2 grades. Please note: If you have not yet turned in your emergency contact information, excellence contract or volunteer forms please do so ASAP!!!

Chaperones/Drivers for the Field Trip
If you are interested in driving for the field trip please make sure that you give the main office your information. This includes your yearly volunteer form, any updated car insurance and copy of your license. Please do this as soon as possible!!!

Wacky Wednesday is back!!!
When: Wednesday September 29th Time: 7:45 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. Location: Middle School Wing What: Wacky Wednesday is a time where all middle school students get a chance to hang out with their friends, chat with their teachers, and buy delicious treats. For one dollar a piece, students have the opportunity to buy doughnuts, bagels, and juice. Students can buy items as soon as they get to school by Dean Kobylarz’s office. Please note that this will be on a first come, first serve basis. Donations We are looking for paper plates and napkins.

7 Grade spirit shirts

The 7th grade shirt vote is in! Your students voted and a vast majority all liked the same shirt, hooray! Next week you will receive information on the cost of the shirt and the design. Please remember that this spirit shirt is NOT mandatory but gives the students a chance to have their own grade level shirt. Please know that this year’s shirt may be more expensive sue to there being writing on the front and back.

Math with Mr. Vantiem
In math this week students continued working on integers while preparing for the MEAP test they will be taking within the next few weeks. This coming week we will work on becoming masters at solving equations and we will be simplifying algebraic expressions and introducing equations.

Annual Middle School Mixer!!!
Our second annual mixer will be held on December 14 from 5:00-7:00pm. If you are interested in chaperoning or planning this mixer please contact Ms. Textor so we can begin the planning process.

Language Arts with Ms. Textor
In language arts this week the students have been working hard on practicing for their upcoming MEAP test in both reading and writing. The classes have had the opportunity to practice their writing skills in narrative, informational and critiquing other’s papers. We have also talked about the importance of our writing in class and the steps we are going to take to improve our writing throughout the entire school year. This upcoming week the students will be getting into the depth of language arts with our weekly schedule. We will continue our work in fictional reading, narrative writing and begin lesson in both grammar and vocabulary. Please be on the lookout for homework next week and it will increase in language arts.

September: Wisdom
To begin our year back in school we re-visit our ‘Wisdom’ Moral Focus for the month of September. We will be talking to students about making wise choices in both their academic and social lives. We encourage talking to your students about the importance of making wise choices in their lives now that they will be making the transitions into this new schedule.

Science/Social Studies with

Ms. Walkuski
Science: This week in science, students studied the scientific method and designing a fair experiment in class. Social Studies: This week is social studies, students learned about Canada's provinces, territories, and physical features.
