Urge the Danish Government to stop this cruel, sick slaughter of Pilot Whales
Say NO to the Faroe Island’s bloody barbarism
PLEASE JOIN US in registering opposition to this deplorable slaughter of pilot whales in the Faroe Islands. The Faroe Islands are situated approximately halfway between Scotland and Iceland and are a constituent country of the Kingdom of Denmark. Every summer, around 950 whales are brutally hooked to death by islanders. Such is the scale of the killing that the sea is turned red with blood. Please send a complaint now to the Ambassador of Denmark and demand that he takes action to stop this cruelty: Mr Niels Pultz, Ambassador of Denmark, Embassy of Denmark, 7th Floor, Block E, Iveagh Court, Harcourt Road, Dublin 2. SAMPLE LETTER Dear Mr Pultz, I urge you to exert pressure on the Danish Government and those in authority in the Faroe Islands to stop the brutal slaughter of pilot whales. This shameful, annual attack on defenceless sea creatures is one of the world's absolute worst examples of cruelty. Its continuation is a very poor reflection on Denmark. I hope that you will urgently act to help protect pilot whales from the barbaric thugs on the Faroe Islands. Thank you. Yours sincerely [Name/Location]

ABOUT PILOT WHALES
The pilot whale is one of the two species of cetacean in the genus Globicephala. It belongs to the oceanic dolphin family. Pilot whales are very social, family animals and may travel in groups of up to a hundred, with one acting as leader. When pilot whales strand themselves on beaches, the rest of the pod tends to follow because of the strong family bonds.
