Sec. 653.21 How does the Secretary determine the amount of a grant to a State?

From the funds appropriated for this program, the Secretary determines the amount of the grant to each participating State on
the basis of the ratio of the school-age population in that State compared to the school-age population in all participating States.
The Secretary determines the number of persons in a State on the basis of the most recently available data from the Bureau of
the Census.
