What is Molluscum Contagiosum??
Molluscum Contagiosum is a viral skin infection that causes raised bumps on your skin. Molluscum is a member of the poxvirus family. The Poxvirus family contains infections such as small pox, monkeypox and cowpox .The poxvirus family can affect both people and animals.

What system does Molluscum affect
Molluscum affects the Integumentary system. The reason is that Molluscum is on your skin which is part of the Integumentary system.

How is Molluscum diagnosed?
Doctors can find out that you have Molluscum by 1: having a skin lesion biopsy or 2: seeing bumps on your skin. The symptoms of Molluscum are seeing dome shaped bumps with a dimple in the centre, the bumps turn red and they are painless but itch.

A skin lesion biopsy is where a doctor take a piece of skin and test’s it to rule out any illness’s

This is a type of biopsy called shave biopsy

How can Molluscum be prevented?
Molluscum can be prevented by not coming into direct contact with another person with Molluscum. The reason for this is that Molluscum is very contagious.

What medical treatments are there to cure molluscum contagiosum?
If you do have molluscum there are many different treatments that include: freezing needle electrosurgery popping them beetle juice These are only a few medical treatments but because there is not enough evidence to prove that one is most effective yet we’ve only listed a few.
