The City of Watertowns Department of Public Works crews will be holding the Fall Dropoff Event for City residents on Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This is an opportunity to dispose of bulk items such as furniture, appliances, windows, cabinets, fencing, yard furniture and small quantities of construction and demolition materials such as siding, steps, scrap lumber and floor coverings. This year the Public Works will be partnering with Jefferson County and the Development Authority of the North Country to provide all residents of Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties the ability to of electronic equipment and household hazardous waste products at no charge. (9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) While the event is underway, W.T. Field Drive (Coffeen Street to Line Drive) will be closed to all southbound traffic. Temporary barricades and signage will be established for this lane closure. Delays should be expected when traveling in this area. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes on this date. If traveling through, motorists should exercise extreme caution. The City of Watertown would like to thank you for your patience and cooperation while this event is underway. ###
