"I have just scanned my thumbnails i ve done so far, as well as some photos I have retouched on photoshop to give it a scary look for the Red Room story" 4. "Thumbnails are on, sorry for the delay " 5. "yes I understand what you mean, I will try it out, it will give the atsmophere a kind of a deep look" 6. " ah thank you, i will look at it " 7." " Hey Lucy, I really like the variation in your marker tone , for instance Number 22 - and I can see a progress from number 1 onwards - http://lucy-yelding.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/thumbails-sofar.html#comment-form " LUCY TO ME: 1. "excited to see your drawing style too " 2. "eah Am posting it all together tomorrow. I made them a while ago but I don't have photoshop atm to present them. Downloading the trial now " 3. "what programmes have you guys been using to present your influences?" 4. "Anass get those thumbnails up! hehe" 5. "sweet cant wait" 6. "hey i like how you're experimenting with editing photos really awesome idea I know it's difficult, and I haven't read your books, but you both seem to be stuck on drawing doors? I don't really know what else to suggest, but maybe you can use camera angles and kinda the "lens" on the "camera" to create atmosphere? like almost a fish eye lens sort of drawing, depending on what

sort of room you're going to create? as just a room with doors doesn't really say much. D: again i havent read your books and im not actually coming up with anything better" 7. "i wasn't trying to suggest taking away the doors, sorry am not being clear. I was trying to say creating a lens affect to create atmosphere" 8." i can't really think what else to do with doorways lol XD but angle is really something that makes an image (didnt come up with this my self, credit to 2nd years xD" 9. "I know Escher is a very famous artist and you've both probably already looked at him, but just incase https://www.google.co.uk/search?num=10&hl=en&site=imghp&tbm=i sch&source=hp&biw=1600&bih=809&q=escher&oq=escher&gs_l=im g.3..0l10.403.1054.0.1131.6.5.0.1.1.0.141.458.3j2.5.0...0.0...1ac.1.fr wZmTwJlxI he does wacky work with perception and door way /stair case art. And another silly suggestion XD but maybe re-watch the first willy wonka movie? They do some crazy things with the rooms." ME TO KATY: 1. "i ll be uploading my thumbnails in few minutes" 2. "Katie we have the same book, have you decided about the set for both stories"? 3. "I have just scanned my thumbnails i ve done so far, as well as some photos I have retouched on photoshop to give it a scary look for the Red Room story" 4. " Thumbnails are on, sorry for the delay " 5. "yes Katy, I agree on that point, once I have taken a look at some phil's suggestions such as the 'wunderkammers' I will have more ideas for the set details and use different angles" 6. " Yes, especially the grid" 7." Guys, have a look at this website which will definitely help you get inspired for your final pieces lots of great concept artists working in famous studios and amazing work http://conceptartworld.com/" 8. " Hey Katy, very interesting images on your influence map. Have a look at 'wunderkammers' ( Phil suggested it, it's very helpful .It will help you with the magic shop interior design. I have just realised we have the same stories, can't wait to see more of your development

thumbnails. http://katyfosdike1.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/thumbs-0109.html#comment-form " 9. I like the second image, for instance the texture on the wall and the dark bits of the room, together express a feeling of fear and loneliness. http://katyfosdike1.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/thumbnails-5254.html#comment-form KATY TO ME: 1. "Ah cool, it'll be good to see how you've interpreted the scenes!" 2. "I've chosen my 3 scenes, 2 from The Red Room and 1 from The Magic Shop... All of them seem to revolve around doors, so. I'm trying to find ways around that" 3. "sweet i have all the images in a folder just need to slap them on the template as soon as the demo downloads" 4." I'm going to draw out loads of thumbnails tomorrow and try be a bit more creative and less restricted with them this time round" 5. " the theatre set concept is a good one as well, the exaggeration in the images is something to include Yeah, I've been trying to work out perspectives etc to see which ones create the best atmosphere" 6. " Using Photoshop Phil's techniques from Friday helped me out a bit.. You could try that? using a horizon line etc?" 7. Awesome perspective, I look forward to seeing the finished ones tomorrow! http://a-animator.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/space-environmentcinematic-spaces_3903.html

KATY TO LUCY: 1. "I've just been using Photoshop, it's the easiest one to use for that sort of thing" 2. "sweet i have all the images in a folder just need to slap them on the template as soon as the demo downloads" 3. "Most of the extracts focus on the doorways, it's something that has to be included into the images.. its the space around them that we can improve and the effects used to create atmosphere but, that gets a bit difficult sometimes" 4. "Ah okay, I follow.. Yeah, that might be something to take into consideration" 5." I'm going to draw out loads of thumbnails tomorrow and try be a bit more creative and less restricted with them this time round" 6." the theatre set concept is a good one as well, the exaggeration in the images is something to include Yeah, I've been trying to work out perspectives etc to see which ones create the best atmosphere" 7.
