2 November, 2012 THE CASE OF DENIS MACSHANE MP Dear Sir, Today Parliament’s Committee on Standards and Privileges has reported its findings into Denis MacShane MP. It is our understanding that the previous investigation in Denis MacShane MP was halted by the CPS because evidence given under privilege to a committee of parliament could not be used for a prosecution. Now that the evidence has been published that no longer applies. Given the serious offences committed I urge to proceed with your investigation using the new evidence now at your disposal. The public interest is best served by holding elected members of parliament who make the law to the highest standards. I urge you to proceed with this case with vigour. Yours sincerely,
