Shope’s Scoop
Happening this week in…
Fall Rotations
On Wednesday, these precious little people traveled around to each Orange Pod teacher’s classroom and completed different activities related to fall. They completed candy corn graphs, played bingo, made a glyph, listened to Halloween stories, and my favorite… decorated and ate their own jack-o-lantern cookie! A very special thanks to Mason’s mom, Michelle for sending each of us a pumpkin to paint. We had so much fun doing this! I hope each of you enjoyed seeing your “little pumpkin’s” pumpkin.

Riverboat Field Trip
Orange Pod classes will be taking a field trip to Montgomery on Tuesday, November 13 to enjoy a riverboat cruise on the Harriott II. This will be a very informative field trip, and we are super excited to board a real boat before our pretend cruise to Italy. Because the children will be taking an actual boat ride, please begin to remind your child at home to listen and follow directions at ALL times while we are on this trip. I am reminding them at school, and I appreciate your encouragement of good behavior, as well.

Tailgate Day
Thanks so much to each of you who helped make our Tailgate Day such a huge success! Our little tailgaters had a BLAST! And, they looked awesome in their t-shirts tye dyed with their favorite team’s colors. Thank you, again for providing your child’s shirt. I know they will enjoy wearing these for years to come.

Journals
In your child’s backpack, you will find his/her October journal. Please take a quiet moment this weekend to allow your child to share this with you. They are extremely proud of their hard work, and so am I. Also, please know that I was out of the room several days this month because of K-Checklist assessments and Professional Development meetings, so there may be some journal entries that your child would have completed with a substitute teacher.

Book Fair
Our annual Scholastic Book Fair will begin Monday, Nov. 5 and will end Fri., Nov. 9th. So, please make sure to visit the book fair with your child before it is over. Yes, students are allowed to bring money to school and purchase books with the assistance of an adult at school. However, for our kindergarten children, it might be best if a parent accompanied them when making decisions on what to purchase. Our class’ designated day to browse & buy is Thursday, the 8th. You are welcome to come have lunch with your child that day, and then head on down to the book fair. We eat lunch at 10:35. Hope to see you soon!

Thank You
A great BIG thank you for all the sanitizing wipes that were sent this week! We appreciate you helping us keep our room clean and germ-free!
