London, 1 December 2010 To Easy Jet company Dear Sir, Madam, I am writing in response to the article ‘The big

debate’ written by Rosie Carr, who is in favour of a secular society. The debate given is mainly about the banning of burqas and veils, which go against the European precepts that Church and State must be kept separate and that women must be treated as equals. Carr admits that in Europe the law guarantee freedom of religion for everyone. However, she strongly believes that burqa should be removed in certain places like schools or other institutions as it makes women invisible and restricts normal everyday contact. As for my reaction to the article, I totally agree with Rosie Carr. I believe in freedom of religion, but when it comes to certain jobs like teaching, the burqa should nor be allowed. Children should in fact not only be able to see the teacher’s face and expressions but also hear her voice properly in order to make their learning easier. I also believe that Muslims living in Europe should accept and understand the European democracy rulings which support the equality between the sexes. Should you require more information do not hesitate to contact me. Yours sincerely, Lucia Della Ghella 206 Words
