Book summary >>> Ulysses arrived on Planet Earth with an invisible space ship after light years of travel. He came from Planet Progress. It was only during the last two generations that the people of Planet Progress actually secured the survival of the human species on their planet. They came very close to self-extinction...... For over a century Planet Earth has been under observation by the scientists of Planet Progress. These scientists were amazed to discover the great similarities between the two planets. They also understood the criticality of the next two centuries for the survival of the human species on planet earth.... They chose Ulysses to carry out this rescue mission, for many reasons... But perhaps the most convincing reason was his unique ability to "see" into the subconscious of other people and, without speaking, directly communicate with their minds... And so the Story begins . It is about the Eternal Human saga…. Why are we here? Who are we? Should we question our values? What is our place in the universe? An Illustrated story that you don’t want to miss. prescribed by the clergy. These rituals, often referred to as religion, drugged the masses, for centuries. The drugged masses became a tasty prey for the ruling lords. Populations of entire continents were thoroughly digested while being drugged. However, the dangerously spreading virus of knowledge started to neutralize the old drug. The old drug was becoming obsolete. A new drug was urgently needed. This new drug had to faithfully serve the aspirations of the power hungry ruling lords for another millennium, but had to be much more sophisticated than the old one. It also aimed for total control of the masses. Engineered to stimulate rather than suppress primitive human desires, above all, it was designed to forever uproot the plaguing virus of knowledge. In short, the new drug had to launch the masses into a restless and mindless productive orbit, while guaranteeing the power monopoly of the ruling lords. The development of the new drug was not easy. Several decades were required to fine-tune it. It was all- together a new drug, administered in radically new methods and developed with entirely new tools. This new drug had many shapes and forms and it was delivered (primarily by the TV) directly into the masses brain. It had a tremendous effect not only on the masses, but also on the entire planet. Many individual human beings were sent into a state of constant frustration compounded with feelings of depravation. It also triggered in them an addiction to external stimulation, to counteract the drug-induced emptiness. These individuals were called Zombie Consumers. The new drug induced in them an insatiable appetite to consume every conceivable commodity. It included all shapes and forms of material goods, a variety of chemical substances, and all kinds of sexual and gastronomical objects. For them, consumption became the essence of life. They were literally consumed by the need to consume. Their motto was: ‘We are what we consume’. And that was just the beginning. Their new desire caused a great economical fire on the planet that lasted more than 200 years. It was this enormous fire that brought the human species to the brink of extinction”. All of a sudden, great darkness fell on the spaceship control room and SmartAce's screen started to flicker with a continually expanding image. It started as a little spot in the screen's center, and constantly grew until Ulysses could finally recognize the image. The title said: ‘A Zombie Consumer - product of the Great Consumption Age’. Loud sounding trumpet music introduced the image, and, finally, SmartAce’s voice came alive as he cheerfully said "Voila. "

Ulysses parked his car near the ocean’s front. It was still early morning and he was watching the beautiful sunrise through the large rock formation on the shore. He was experiencing a great sensation. It was something he could never experience in his lifetime on planet progress. The red and beautiful silhouette of the sun in front, the sea lions on the rocks bathing in the morning sun, and the cheerful sound of the morning birds from the green trees all around. He could have never physically witnessed it back home. The only way some one could even come close to such a sensation on planet progress was by watching a very old movie picture. Such beautiful scenes were kept alive on planet progress only by the video- tapes. The scenes of free birds were long gone and most of the oceanic mammals died from chemical pollution and excessive fishing. Watching the sun freely was completely forbidden even during sunset due to the severe atmospheric erosion. The color of the trees on planet progress was mostly yellow and a person was not allowed to stay in the outside atmosphere without the breathing mask. Ulysses quickly figured out that if everything will progress on his planet according to the environmental rescue plans, it would take roughly 900 years before such a science may be even thinkable back home. Well, he thought, I bet these natives have no real appreciation for such beauty and chances are they have no idea how easily they can lose it all. He could smell the clean and fresh breath of the ocean and felt almost high breathing the clean and abundant oxygen. I wish my friends could be here for just a few moments. There is no way I can ever try to explain to them such a sensation. It will be like using empty words to explain a great act of love. Thinking of love, he said to himself, how about making a phone call to little Scatterbrain. If I have to make a guess she is still alone in bed and probably would not mind sharing her breakfast with me. He drove slowly away from the morning scene searching for a nearby phone. She picked up the phone almost instantly and in her half sleepy voice she sounded as if she just woke up from a sweet dream. "Hi there," she said, "I can't believe it but I was just dreaming about US." "Well lady, how about sharing your breakfast with me?" asked Ulysses. "I wouldn't mind a fresh cup of coffee with a good looking woman." "Sounds wonderful, “ she said, "I will be ready for you in fifteen minutes, let me give you directions.”........... 15
Ulysses steered his invisible space ship to the capital of the Natives. He planed a rendezvous with the mind of the legislators. He was told in the briefings that this event is going to be his first real shocking experience on earth. .....
