Our leaning engagements for this unit will include a workshop with Ark Eden foundation, pet day, caring for plants and maintaining a worm farm, watching documentaries, carrying out our own research through books and pictures. Through these activities we will inquire into the exciting world of plants and animals and talk about our responsibilities towards them. Please let us know if you have child-appropriate resources such as videos, books, or photographs to share with us. If you have personal experiences that you feel might help us with our inquiry, we would also love to hear your story. We are also interested in getting to know your pets and to hear about how you care for them.

Music with Ms Fauvel


Year One students are beginning a unit in Music on World Music. They will be leading an inquiry into how different cultures express themselves through music. If you have a traditional song, dance, or musical experience from your culture that you would like to share please email Ms Fauvel at mfauvel@rchk.edu.hk to arrange a time to share your experience with the children. They would love to hear your perspective on traditional Music.

MATHS Students will continue to develop number awareness, and also begin to inquire into patterning and data handling.

Visual Arts In Visual Arts we are exploring primary and secondary colours, and we will learn how to display these colours in the Colour Wheel! We are going to use leaves as a point of inspiration and we will have a little look at the book ' The Leaf Man' by Lois Elhert! We will be using lots of paint, and will try wax crayon rubbings! A messy and creative journey to help us learn a very important aspect of the elements of the art, that all artists must understand!
