Animal Abuse Aisha Rishi A couple days ago I came across an article online which explained how an Amazon

parrot was abused by its owner. He would make the parrot sit on the car wiper and then drive the car very fast so that the poor bird would be hanging on the wiper for it’s dear life. Also sometimes he would turn on the wiper while driving so that the bird would start flapping its wings as well. He had made a video of it and posted it on youtube for fun. According to him, he was just making the bird exercise. There was yet another picture posted on facebook of a puppy that had gone through terrible abuse by its owner. The owner would bind him to the car and drag him on the road. After he was rescued, he was bleeding, his skin was torn and the flesh was showing but what really caught my attention was the horror and sadness filled in his eyes as if asking us humans of his fault. Why he was treated so inhumanely when we are supposed to be the best of the best in all living things? Any person with an ounce of sympathy in his heart would stop to think and feel sorry for such animals that go through abuse. Do they not have a life? Do they not hurt? Do they not have feelings? Do they not have any rights? Even if you are not an animal lover, it still doesn’t give you a right to treat any animal like this. However it has been observed that most of the people who do these things are the ones that proclaim to be animal lovers. They would get a pet out of enthusiasm and then after a few days get tired of taking care of it thus start the mistreatment. I think it is very important to teach our children to love animals from a very young age. When a child develops a bond with a pet, they experience an unconditional love from them which helps to promote a healthy and positive personality in them. Unfortunately the bond between a pet and a child/master is quite undermined in our society. Mostly people say that it is just an animal. They fail to realize that it is an animal with the same emotions that we humans experience as well. If you have a pet at home, please take good care of it as they become your responsibility and part of the family the minute you bring them to your home. If you see any abuse towards the animals on the road, be a better person and try to stop it and provide shelter to such animals. No one deserves to be treated inhumanely.
