Second small group lesson plan Teacher Notes for Use During Instruction 1.

1. The teacher will call the yellow group over to her desk 2. The teacher will introduce the book the teacher and small group of students will read the title together 3. The teacher will tell the students to take a picture walk of the book 4. The teacher will ask the students what they think the book will be about according to the pictures. She will also ask what kind of emergencies they saw in the pictures 5. The teacher will go over the vocabulary words in the front of the book 6. The teacher will tell the students to whisper read to page 5. When the students are done, the teacher will ask comprehension questions. 7. The teacher will tell the students to whisper read to page 8. When the students are finished, the teacher will ask comprehension questions. 8. The teacher will tell the students to partner read to the end of the book. When the students are done, the teacher will ask comprehension questions. 9. This is all summative assessments. The teacher is listening to the students as they read out loud. The teacher is also asking questions to see if they understand what they read.
