PROPHET MUHAMMAD

It was the month of Ramadan; in about the year 610, an event occurred in the valley of Mecca that completely changed the course of history. Muhammad, an Arab merchant at that time, used to go to a cave on Mount Hira for a spiritual retreat. The sky at night full of stars never ceased to amaze his senses. It opened doors of wonders on him to ponder the issues related with faith, peace and a sense of responsibility. The serene scene of Kaaba, a cubical shape shrine and the surrounding hills filled with the lights emanating from lamps burning in huts filled his heart to search for the truth that somehow always eluded Arabs. He felt inner peace on top of the mountain cave that he could not go to in day-to-day life. Yet, he wanted to express this peace and serenity to his people. He knew what they did was wrong. In fact what they did was more than horrible! Newborn baby girls were buried alive by their fathers just because they thought it was a thing of shame. Girls were also considered a burden on the family. Other such norms as drinking, killing and fighting were widespread in Arabs society. These were such things that made Muhammad sad. But soon it was all about to change!
