1. What is the Battledome? The Battledome is a game where one or two players can have their pets fight.

The owners equip and train their pets and then they find opponents for their pets t o fight. If this sounds interesting please read the rest of this page so you hav e a more complete understanding of what it is, and what you need to do. 2. How do I play (give me the quick version!) Challenge a pet by clicking on the Challenge a Pet! tag above, then keep checkin g the Status tag until they accept. A button should come up called 'Enter Battle dome'... when both players click this and arrive then the battle commences. Each move you can select one ability (from the drop down list) and up to two ite ms that you have equipped to your pet (these can be bought in the Battle/Defence shops in Neopia Central). If you use an ability then your Power rating will go down slightly. The power rating tells you how many ability moves you have left. The aim of the game is to reduce the other pet to 0 hit points! There are loads of items that all do different things in the game, over 40 abilities, so no game should ever be the same! NOTE: You must have battledome items equiped to your pet or have abilites to do damage to your opponent! For more in depth instructions, continue on with the li nks above starting with Targeting. 3. How do I get abilities?? You need to find a faerie in a bottle! These are given out around the site rando mly, and you may be able to see some for sale at the Magic Shop or you can check with the Shop Wizard for faeries in other users shops. Once you have one click on it and you will see the option to bless your pet with a new ability. To view the abilites that you have go to Pet Central, and then you can click on the seco nd link at the top of the page to go to the Abilites page. Also, remember that t o use your abilites in the Battledome you need to activate them first. To do thi s go to the Abilites page and click on them so that they are animated. 4. What is coming in the future? Well we are aiming to spend a few weeks improving the combat, and adding more an d more battle items, random events, and more. Also, we are aiming to build stori es about battles into the Neopedia. We also have a lot of fun things planned for Maraqua so make sure that you stay tuned to what is happening in the New Featur es of the site and of the New Features in the Battledome. 5. How do I increase my pet's level? You can increase your pet's level by doing Kitchen quests, and Light Faerie Ques ts. Another way would be to feed your pet Cool Neggs. You can also train your pe ts at the Training School on Mystery Island or at the Swashbuckling Academy. Jus t make sure you select the course in level. If you have a map to the Secret Lab you can use the lab ray to increase your pets level. Also, occasionally you may get a level for a pet as a random event! Beware though some of these things like the Lab Ray can do other things. 6. What are Hit Points? Hit Points are a measurement of how many points your Neopet has left before you lose in the Battledome. If your Hit Points show 8/14 it means your Neopet has 8 out of a possible 14 points left. When your Neopet reaches 0 Hit Points it can n

o longer fight in the Battledome and needs to be nursed back to health. You can see how many hit points your pet currently has on the Status page. 7. How do I increase my pet's Hit Points? You can increase your pet's Hit Points by doing Dark Faerie quests, and also by feeding your pet Sneggs and Cool Neggs. Other ways to increase your pets Hit Poi nts is to train your pet in Endurance at the Swashbuckling Academy, or at the Tr aining School on Mystery Island. As with your pet's level you can also occasiona lly get a random event that will raise your pet's Hit Points! 8. How do I increase my pet's Strength and Defence? You can increase your pet's Strength and Defence by doing Fire and Water Faerie quests. Your pet can also eat Silver Knight Neggs and Power Neggs and Cool Neggs (only increase strength). Or if you are lucky you could get your pet's Strength or Defence raised by a random event! Training at the Training School on Mystery Island or at the Swashbuckling Academy will also raise your pets Strength or De fence. Just make sure you select the course in one of those. 9. Do your pets actually do more damage if their strength is 50 vs. if it is 40? Yes, if your pet's strength is 50 your pet will do more damage than if your pet' s strength is 40. 10. Is it harder for your pet to be hit if their defense is higher? Defence works similarly to strength. Your pet can defend itself more with a defe nce of 50 than with a defence of 40. However, what your pet defends against is a ll dependent on the weapons that your pet is using. 11. How much damage do certain weapons do? In general, the rarer the weapon the more powerful it will be. To find the types of attacks and defences it does, you need to use the Battlepedia. If the weapon that you want to know more about is not in the Battlepedia then you will have t o ask other people who own the weapon. This is a good way to find out about weap ons that you are considering buying. If other people like them they usually have something going for them. Other users can also warn you away from bad selection s. 12. Can I increase the level of an equipped item? Not at the moment.. we do have plans to build this in ASAP. The level of an item does not affect its powers currently. 13. How do I unequip a battle item from my pet? This is simple, just go to the Equipment page and find the item that you want to unequip. Click on the item. The item will disappear, and it will be placed in y our "Your Items". 14. My fight went weird... how do I report bugs? Please contact Support with FULL details about what happened, error messages etc . It will also help if you include your username. Making sure that the game is b ug-free is a hard job and we will try to get back to you and fix the errors as q uickly as possible. Please have patience. With your help, we will be constantly working on making the Battledome bug-free.

15. How do you find/activate the one-player challengers? There are many special characters you can get for your Single Player Tournaments . How you activate them varies for each character. Some you may need to complete a certain game, visit a certain shop, complete a quest or something completely different. 16. How can I fight the one-player challengers? We will slowly be adding new challengers and allowing you to fight the challenge rs that you have already found. If you want to check to see which ones you have found and which ones you can fight click here! If you are confused on how to use the One-Player Battledome please read the instructions. 17. I had to leave my one-player fight, how do I re-enter? You cannot re-enter a one-player fight. Once you leave the fight you will have t o withdraw. There are no exceptions to this rule. Please try to make sure that y ou can finish the battle before you start it. 18. AHHHHHHHHH!!!! The one-player challenger is CHEATING!!! The one-player challengers don't cheat. They have a different set of rules conce ring items. They can use items as often as they like. We know about this. It is for you to find out how to beat them when they have this advantage. Good Luck!!! 19. My item vanished during the fight Watch out for messages during the fight. Some items are one-use, such as snowbal ls or Novas. Also, some items may break a certain percentage of the time, such a s a Magic Branch (which will break one out of thirty times used). If your item i snt there at the end of a battle, then it is most probably one of these items. C ontact us if you disagree. 20. Can I get items stolen permanently? Not at the moment. If somebody uses a Crystal Boomerang, or a Telescoping Grabbe r on you then they will be able to steal your item, but only for the duration of the battle. You will get it back at the end. Some items that we will release in the future may have permanent effects, if they do we will tell you about them. 21. Waah. My pet doesn't have any species abilities Don't fret. Some pets get their species-related abilties at a lower level, and s ome don't. All pets have species-related abilities. We have tried to make it fai r between all the species. 22. My pet had new species abilites on their pet day, but now they don't have th em. What happened? Each pet gets three new species abilites for their "Pet Day". The abilities are only good for that day though. Occasionally we forget to take them down after th e end of the day, but we are usually very good about it. To find out when your p ets special day is check out the Neopian Calendar! 23. My pets "Pet Day" has come and gone and I never got any special abilites!!! Why not? This year 2004 we decided to no longer offer the special abilites on the pet day s. We may bring this back sometime, but for now they will not be available.

24. How do I heal my pet? Don't worry, your pet will be ok, there are several different ways to heal your pet. One way is if you simply feed your pet it will slowly heal. If you don't ha ve time to wait, there is always Healing Potions and Health Shrooms that you can feed your pet to speed up the healing process. Another option is to go to the H ealing Springs in Faerie Land. There, a nice faerie will look at your pet and he lp you. 25. When I go to the Healing Springs the Faerie tells me I am in a Battle, Why? If the Faerie at the Healing Springs is telling you that you are in a battle, th en you are in one. The reason you don't think you are in a battle is because for some reason the battle didn't finish correctly or you forgot to withdraw. What you need to do is check the status page and make sure that there isn't a challen ge box. If there is click the withdraw link in the bottom of the box for the fig ht you want to withdraw from. If there isn't a box then wait for 24 hours and yo u should be withdrawn from the fight. If you are in a One-player fight, all you have to do is visit the status page to be withdrawn. Also, remember to wait one or two minutes before going to the healing springs because for some reason the r ecord may not be removed immediately. 26. What happens to my items if I abandon my pet? If you are thinking of abandoning your pet, make sure you remove all valuable ba ttle items from your pet and put them in your Safety Deposit Box or on one of yo ur other pets. Your items will be put back into your inventory, but it is better to move them yourself. NOTE Petpets will stay attached to your pet when you aba ndon it. If you want to keep a petpet remember to REMOVE them before you disown your pet. 27. My buttons are not showing up! What's wrong? If your "Accept", "Reject", and "Enter" buttons are not showing up in your chall enge boxes it is likely that you are in the wrong arena. Check the bottom of the challenge box. Right above the withdraw link there is a sentence which will tel l you what Battledome you need to go to in order to see these buttons. 28. Where do you get "special moves" for your pets? There are currently no Special Move offers available right now. Keep checking ba ck, because we may offer more in the future. We will let you know with an note o n the New Features page if we do offer new Special Moves. 29. When is the next League Tournament going to be? Sorry, we are not going to have any more league tournaments! Congratulations to all of those that have participated in the past. 30. Where can I get weapons to use in the Battledome? Do I need them? Yes, you do need weapons, or you won't do any damage to your opponent! You can f ind weapons to buy at the Magic Shop, Battle Magic Shop, and the Defence Magic S hop, which are all located in the Main Shops and also in the Other Shops. You ca n also find other shops in the Space Station, the Plateau of Tyrannia, the Ice C aves, Krawk Island, the Lost Desert, the Deserted Fairground, and Brightvale. 31. How come when I'm in the Battledome and I try to use my petpet it does not w ork?

The petpets do work, but the damage will not show on the screen like all of the items and abilites. 32. How do I raise my petpets level so that it does more damage in the Battledom e? You can raise your petpets level with the Petpet Battles. At one time you could raise your petpet's level by taking it to Turmaculus, but he has been missing si nce the war with Darigan... 33. My opponent stopped playing and it has been 30 minutes. What should I do? If your opponent stopped playing and it has been over 15 minutes they are probab ly not coming back. In this case the best thing you could probably do is withdra w from the battle. Don't worry about being penalized. If you were the last perso n to move then you can withdraw without fear. 34. I can't challenge anyone, because my pet's name doesn't show up in the Selec t A Pet box. What's wrong? If your pet's name is not in the Select A Pet box when you are trying to challen ge someone there are three possiblities for what is wrong. Your pet is either hu ngry, low on Hit Points, or your pet is currently in another battle. 35. There are messages that won't stop scrolling across the top of my screen. I know I have fought these pets already. Why are they still there? These messages get stuck there when a fight is not ended properly. If you have a lerts/messages at the top of the screen that won't go away and have been there a while, then just follow these simple instructions to remove them. 1) Go to the Status Page. 2) Click on the Events and Messages link. 3) You should see all of your messages and a date of when it appeared so you wil l know what the most recent messages were. 4) Delete all of the messages you want deleted. 36. The challenge box is still up on the page for a fight that is finished. How do I get rid of it? It is simple to get rid of this box. It is mainly there so you can talk to your opponent after the fight. To remove the box click on the Withdraw link. Then cli ck on the withdraw link on the page that it takes you to. Don't worry it will no t delete the fight. It will only delete the challenge box. 37. I cannot feed my pet or enter it in a challenge. I am not in a fight, and my pet has full HP and is well fed. What should I do? Can you withdraw me if that is the problem? If you can't enter a fight, heal, feed, use your pet because the Battledome says that you are in a fight, here are some easy steps for you to follow: 1) If you swear that you ended the fight and went to the healing springs etc and you got the message, it could be that you just got there too quickly. Wait a li ttle bit and then try again. 2) Check the Status page to see if you have a Challenge box. If you do, then you can either re-enter the fight, or you can click the withdraw link at the bottom of the box (make sure you go to the page and read it, just clicking won't withd raw you). (If you are in a one-player fight visiting the status page will remove

you from the fight) If you don't have this box go to the next step. 3) Try unequiping a weapon from that pet and then re-equiping the item. 4) If you are still stuck in a fight after 24hrs and nothing else has worked, pl ease contact us here. PLEASE try to make sure that both you and your opponent view the trophy page. Wh en one user doesn't go to this page fights can get stuck.
