DAY 2 LESSON 10: GOD GAVE US RULES AND LAWS

Recap: Jesus tells us to obey the commandments in order to live in God’s love. To make it easier to understand and to follow, He summarized The Ten Commandments in just two greatest commandments of all.

THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT
cf. Matthew 22: 36-40

“Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” He said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.”

TWO GREATEST COMMANDMENTS

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

Love God

1. Love God more than you love anything else. 2. Always say God’s name with love and respect. 3. Honor the Lord by resting on the seventh day of the week.

WHY DO YOU THINK JESUS WANTS US TO LOVE GOD?

Love others

4. Love and respect your mom and dad. 5. Never hurt anyone. 6. Always be faithful to your husband or wife. 7. Don’t take anything that isn’t yours. 8. Always tell the truth. 9. Don’t wish for other people’s husband or wife. 10 . Be happy with what you have. Don’t wish for other people’s things.

WHY DO YOU THINK JESUS WANTS US TO LOVE OTHERS EVEN THOSE WHOM WE DO NOT LIKE?

•God is our Father and our Creator. Without Him, we are nothing. •Loving God will make us truly happy and good. It will bring us back to Him.

•Loving other people means loving God. It makes us happy because we are doing what God wants us to do. If everyone will love one another, there will be peace and unity in the world.
