Jonathon Campbell 150 State Street Albany, NY 12207 Email: RE: Public Records Request - PRR # 2013-188

Dear Mr. Campbell: This is a response to your request for public records under the California Public Records Act (CPRA), dated November 28, 2012, in which you requested specifically a 2012 contract regarding Dr. Richard Jackson's participation in an assessment of New York's review of hydraulic fracturing, and/or contracts between (1) UCLA, the Fielding School of Public Health and/or Dr. Richard Jackson and (2) the State of New York, the New York State Department of Health, and/or the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. UCLA departments completed the search for the responsive documents and, pursuant to California Government Code section 6253, we are making the requested record available to you. We have found that Dr. Jackson had no formal agreement with New York State beyond the enclosed volunteer document. Although the CPRA authorizes UCLA to charge for reproduction costs and/or programming services,[1] as a courtesy this fee has been waived. Any subsequent requests may be subject to copying and/or programming fees. UCLA strives to honor the spirit and legislative intent of the California Public Records Act. We believe the attached responsive records successfully fulfill the purpose of this law and your request. This completes the response to your request. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or comments. Sincerely,

Aimee M. Felker
