CabloCAD2009isanapplicationwhichsupportsthedesignofcableroutesmadefromCABLOFILwire meshcabletrays.ThissoftwareisaplugintomorefrequentlyusedversionsofCADsoftware: AutoCAD,AutoCADLT*,Bricscad,ZWCAD,andvariousdistributionsofIntelliCAD.

GettingStartedwithCabloCAD
CustomisingCAD
Afterinstallation,itisnecessarytorunCabloCAD2009configurationtoselecttheinterface languageandtheenvironmentsettings.Inthemainwindowoftheconfigurationutility,choosethe requiredversionofCADsoftwareandthenclicktheConfigureCADbutton.Youonlyneedtoperform theconfigurationonce.Whencompleted,youcanruntheCADsoftwareusingitsoriginaliconora shortcut. Afterthisconfiguration,therewillbeanadditionaltoplevelmenuandanewtoolbarintheCAD application.

Applicationregistration
Whenyourunthesoftwareforthefirsttime,youwillbepromptedtoregistertheapplication. Registereduserswillbenotifiedaboutprogramupdates,availabletrainingsessions,etc.

DrawingCABLOFILwiremeshcabletrays
MethodsfordrawingandeditingCABLOFIL routesarepresentedintheanimated presentationsbundledwiththeprogram. Therefore,thisdocumentonlydiscusses relevantinformationpertainingtodesigning withCabloCAD.

Applicationoverview
Optionunits
Whenyoubeginyourwork,youneedtoselecttherequiredunitofmeasurementusedinthedesign process.Architecturaldesignsaremostoftencreatedincentimetres;therefore,whendesigningon thebasisofbuildingstructures,youneedtomeasurethecomponentinordertodeterminetheunit tobeused.Afterdeterminingtheunitofmeasure,youneedtoruntheCABLOFIL Optionscommandandchoosetherequiredunit(mm,cmorm).

Drawingscale
Alldesignsmustbemadeinmodelspacewithascaleratioof1:1intheselectedunitof measurement(mm,cm,m).Thefinaldrawingscaleshouldbedeterminedonlywhenprintingor composingprintoutsinsheets(inpaperspace).Thescalemustbeinputinsomecommands.The scaleismostoftenusedtodeterminethesizeofdescriptions,sizesofframesandtables,etc.

Layerstraymaterial
Duringthedesignprocess,itispossibletodefinethefabricationmaterialofCABLOFILwiremesh cabletrays.TheCabloCADsoftwareplacestraysmadeofdifferentmaterialsondifferentlayers. Forexample,layer2DE_OBP_CblfEZisusedforelectroplatedCABLOFILtrays(EZ),the 2DE_OBP_Cblf316Llayerisusedforstainlesssteeltrays(316L). Thematerialandothertrayparameterscanbe changedwiththeCABLOFILMatchproperties command. Toavoidincorrectassignmentoftraymaterials, itisnotrecommendedtochangethetraylayers withthestandardoptionsofAutoCAD/IntelliCAD software. NOTE:

Whencreatingcomponentsets,CABLOFILcheckslayernamesandtakesintoaccountonlythose componentswhichareinlayersstartingwith2DE_OBP_Cblf.Forthisreason,youshouldnotrename thetraylayers. Anexceptiontothisrulecanbemade,forexample,whenitisrequiredtoaddanotherlayerinred forafiresafetysystemorotherspecialsystem;forexamplethe2DE_OBP_CblfEZ_ppozlayercanbe usedinfiresafetysystemsforelectroplatedtrays.Insuchcases,theCABLOFILmaterialsbillwill includethelayernameinsteadofthematerialname.

Attributesdataontraycouplersandmountingpieces
InCabloCADyoucanselectcouplersandtherequired spanbetweensupports.Thisdataisusedtocalculate thequantityofaccessoriesnecessaryforthe installationofthedesignedsystems. Dataonconnectingpiecesandmountingsisstoredineachobjectininvisibleattributes(COUPLERS andMOUNTINGSrespectively). Usethe(CABLOFILMatchproperties)commandtoselecttherightaccessoriesfortheselected trays. NOTE: InAutoCAD/IntelliCADtherearecommandsavailableforchangingattributevalues.ForCABLOFIL trays,youshouldnotedittheCOUPLERSandMOUNTINGSattributesmanually.Thiscouldcause errorsinbillsofmaterials.

MaincategoriesofCabloCADobjects
Wiremeshcabletrays(toporsideview)basicobjectsusedindrawingplans. Youcandrawsingletraysorautomaticallydraw traylineswithautomaticinsertionofbends(or withoutbends).ReducersandTconnectionsare alsoavailable. Thesejobsareautomaticallyattachedtotrays (usingtheoneclickmethod). Convenienteditingoftrayswithautomatic insertionofbendsorTconnectionsisavailable withtheCABLOFILcouplecabletrays command. Diagramsofmountingpiecesthiscategorycontainsdiagramsrepresentingthetraymounting method.Mountingpiecediagramsareusedonlyasgraphicalsupplementaryinformation.Therefore, mountingpiecesymbolsarenotusedinthecreationofbillsofmaterials. Forautomaticinsertionof diagramsofmountingpieces,you canusetheInsert:2D/3D, Symbols,Descriptions.

 Accessoriesthiscategorycontainsadditionalcomponents,i.e.handles,fireretardantbaffles,etc. Componentsinsertedinthedesignwillbetakenintoaccountwhencreatingbillsofmaterials. Somecomponents,suchasclamps,handles,etc.,aretoosmalltoshowinviews.InCabloCAD, insteadofinsertingadefinedquantityofminorobjectsintothedesign,youcaninsertatableof additionalcomponents.Componentswithaspecifiedquantitywillbetakenintoaccountinthebills ofmaterials.

Toeditadditionalcomponents,youcan useAutoCAD/IntelliCADcommandsfor editingattributesortheAttributesand descriptionscommandinCabloCAD.

ConnectingpiecescatalogueIndesignscreatedwithCabloCAD,dataaboutconnectingpiecesis takenintoaccountwhendrawingtrays.Therefore,itisnotnecessarytoinsertconnectingpiecesinto thedesignasgraphicalobjects.Intheconnectingpiecescatalogue,youcanonlyviewtechnical informationaboutCABLOFILconnectingpieces.

Complexstructures
Inactualsystems,itisveryoftennecessarytoruntraysinamultitierarrangement.Sometimessuch structurescanbecomprisedofmanytraysmountedtotheceiling,walls,etc.Itisverydifficultto presentsuchstructuresinviews,asmanyoverlappingtraysmakethedesignverydifficulttoread. InCabloCADthisproblemwasresolvedwith'complexstructures'.Inthiscase,insteadofdrawing manysuperimposedtrays,youcandrawaroutealongwhichthetrayswillrunandadiagram showingthearrangementoftraysandmountingpiecesintheroute. 2DDrawingacomplexstructureinCabloCAD

Thecomplexstructurediagrammustcontain: 1. 'Structuredesignationsymbol'thedesignationmustbeunique(e.g.C01,A15,etc.).Inone design,youcannotdefineseveralcomplexstructureswiththesamedesignation(identifier). 2. 'Mountingpieces'adiagramcomprisedofspecialmountingpiecesymbols.Wheninserting mountingpieces,diagramsdeterminethespacingofmountingpiecesandthestructure(e.g.C01, A15). 3. 'Traysections'wheninsertingmountingpiecesymbols,pleasedeterminethetypeof connectingpieces,bymeansofwhichthetraysareconnected,andstructuredesignations(e.g. C01,A15). Trayroutewhendrawingthetray,specifythetotalwidthandheightoccupiedbyalltraysinthe route.

 Comments: Acomplexstructure(e.g.C01)includesallcomponentswithaparticularidentifier(e.g.C01). Therefore,forthepurposesofvisualinspection,theidentifierisvisibleinsymbolsofmounting piecestraycrosssections.TheIDisplacedinanonprintablelayer;therefore,itisvisibleonlyon thescreen. Inonedefinitionofacomplexstructure(i.e.inonestructure),youshouldavoidmixing componentswithdifferentIDs.Whencopyingcomponentsbetweenstructures,theidentifiers (i.e.symbolattributes)mustbeadjusted. Inactualdesigns,itisveryoftennecessarytodefineseveralcomplexstructures.Inthiscase,it isrecommendedtoplacealldiagramsinoneareaofthedesign(i.e.nexttothelegendorthe designtable). Youcannotdefineseveralidentical complexstructuresinasingledesign.This canleadtoerrorsincreatingbillsof materials(duplicatecomponentsinthe drawingcanduplicatethenumberoftrays andaccessoriesinbillsofmaterials). Ifitisnecessarytocopydiagramsof complexstructures,allcopiesmustbe 'brokendown'ortheymusthave'cleared identifiers'(emptydesignationattribute). Suchcopieswillnotbetakenintoaccountin billsofmaterials.

Creatingbillsofmaterials
ForCABLOFILtraysandaccessories,thefollowingtypesofbillsofmaterialsareavailable: CABLOFILTraystenderschedule Thisbillofmaterialsincludestrays,connectingpiecesandmountingpieces. Theprogramoffersstraighttrays,bends,Tconnectionsandreducers.Allthesecomponentsare actuallymadeoftrays;therefore,whenbillsofmaterialsarecreated,insteadofbends,T connectionsandadapters,theprogramoutputstrayswiththelengthsnecessarytomakethe components.Thetotallengthoftraysisroundeduptotheunitlength(3m). Thenumberofmountingpiecesiscalculatedtakingintoaccountthespacingofmountingpieces andthetotallengthoftrays. Thenumberofconnectingpiecesandthetotallengthoftrays.

Manufacturerlibrarysymbolsandobjects Thisscheduleprovidesgeneralinformationabouttheobjectsusedinthedesignwithouttaking intoaccountaccessoriesandtraylengths. Note:Thisscheduleoutputsonlythequantityoftraysections(butnotthelength).

*In AutoCAD LT, CabloCAD works in script mode. That means, a user should wait a moment for the drawing of cable trays to finish. Otherwise the scripts will be broken.
